New Vortex Talon 10k RF Binos

Honestly not sure. Saw it posted on another forum. That’s why I was asking here if anyone had anymore info. I trust roksliders a bit more.

I can’t speak to UHd vs alpha glass. But I can say the glass is tremendously better than the Fury/Vipers.

I can say this for sure........and I have the Fury AB too.

I have a Meostar HD, Gold Ring HD, SLC, ELSV, and 8x32 UHD. The FOV in the UHD blows them all away, it's sharp to 90% of the field, it's very well made, super sharp optics, everything works very smoothly. It takes a back seat to none of my others. The one for sale here under $1000 is a steal.

Dang auto correct. I fixed my post above to I can say the uhds are tremendously better than the Fury/viper. I talked to someone in MT this year that just went from UHds to ELs. He said he liked the swaros better, but they were close.

For what you can get UHds for used, I am not sure they can be beat.

What does the Vortex UHD glass compare to, say against Maven, Swaro?

To my eyes, superior to the SLC‘s. No field flattener like in the Maven B2’s and modern Swaro offerings, so also superior to all those options as well for my eyes (yes, that includes the NL’s). Definitely an Alpha performance grade optic. If Swaro had revamped the SLC’s to these and called them the SLC2.0, everybody would lump them into the “Swaro, Leica, Zeiss” bubble conversation. Top shelf optics, without question.

I wonder what these new binos will be priced at. Im still waiting on Maven to release theirs. Before I make a decision on RF Binos. Ad of now the Leica Geovids are first on my list.

I have SLC 15’s and UHD 10x42’s. I think they’re pretty much equal. I’ve never looked through NL’s but I have used my dad’s older Geovids. I like the UHD’s better.

Clarity and resolution is one thing. They're all fairly close at the top.

I HATE the pink glass in Vortex UHDs. They have the worst color rendering of any major brand.

I know they say it helps with overall performance or whatever but I just can't stand to look through them.

I'm interested to see if they can pull off using their pink tint UHD glass in LRF binos though or if they'll use something else.

Not sure if you've looked through them after that comment. I find them to be a touch more accurate than my 2 SLC's actually, and there's zero "pink" tint when looking through them. They are equally as sharp and contrasty as the SLC's as well.

FYI, the new Talon will be Razor HD glass, which are excellent as well.

Yeah I hear this a lot from older people.

Vortex adds in the extra violet tint because as we age, our corneal lenses yellow which makes it harder to distinguish blue, green, and violet.

Old people spend the most money on binoculars, so Vortex adds in extra violet to their most expensive glass to make the green and brown easier to distinguish for people who are losing their color vision.

I can still see all my colors, so it looks awful.

For me, 12x Razor HD or UHD glass would be a no brainer. Outside the Leica and Swaro EL, optics on these rangefinding binos have been subpar and electronics warranties on all of them have been subpar at best. A vortex razor option would be awesome.

Never seen pink tint in my UHDs. Cool to see more RF binos hit the market. I have the new Revics and they’ve been excellent.
