New vehicle time

Didn't read the comments, if I wanted a new vehicle dedicated to hunting, I think the only option is a Tacoma with a 6' bed. I hated having pickups with beds too short to sleep in, I sold mine and bought a 2005 tundra with a 6.5' bed and feel like it's about the perfect pickup other than the shit MPG.

I used SUV's for years and will most likely switch back to an SUV after the kids are out of the house. I like being able to live in the back dust free, the pickup is nice but on cold nights it is nice to be able to reach up and start the vehicle and run the heater for a bit.

Half-ton with a 6.5' bed for sleeping and a canopy has been the combo for me.
I can't imagine getting a Tacoma, especially with the 5' bed and thinking you have a truck capable of doing much.
My 2015 F150 with the 3.5 Eco just turned 184k miles. It has done everything better than my Tacoma ever did and with the same mpg and fewer necessary repairs.

Insurance decided to total my car after I hit a deer. It would be paid off in March. So now I'm in car buying mode. The old car was a 21 crv.

What are we thinking of the Chevy Colorado zr2? What about with a diesel? I wouldnt mind a truck with a decked system and a topper. Tacoma? Or Silverado? Explorer? What say everyone?
I have had 2 Colorado zr2, and are my favorite vehicle in existence, it’s like the perfect pickup… besides reliability on my second one

My first one I drove about a year with no issues at all besides a sticky ignition (easy fix) but traded it in on a tundra due to towing needs

I eventually talked my wife into driving the tundra and I got another zr2 (2018 with 12k miles) if I remember correctly, I started having little issues start around 60k, and traded it in right past 100k knowing it was either that or dump a lot of money into it. I loved them though, superior in every way to the tacos I’ve had, and even the trd pro I drove a fair amount, they are cool pickups (mine were gas)

My second one was hard to find, at the time, and diesel were nearly impossible and over priced, but finally found one, and maybe something happened in its first 12k, but it shied me away from anything that’s not a taco

I now have a gen 4 taco and like it, but I think my gen 3 was a better package (more power, tow capacity and better fuel economy)
