All those are .73” muzzle thickness. So thick enough to thread….they are already threaded 5/8s.

The barrels aren’t slow. The chambers are long. Results in lower than normal pressure with factory loads, which makes them a bit slow. If you hand load it’s an advantage. You can load out closer to the lands and pick up some bonus velocity over a standard throat and handloads loaded to close to SAAMI specs.

The factory magazine and BM offering is by far the lightest on the market of any gun type. I’ve seen minimal reports of issues with them. It is plastic and that bothers some.

To each their own.

I’ve had 2 clients lose tikka mags over the years on hunts in the field.

What? You can’t be serious.
I have a 6.5 creed veil and with 135gr Bergers I get 2960 fps with a case full of RL26. Also have a 270 win roughtech that with factory 145 grn eldx ammo gets around 2800fps, but with RL26 I am 200-250fps faster than that.

You can go on Euro Optic to see their new offerings already (and buy them). Looks like the roughtech superlites are getting shorter barrels (20") and bells and whistles. Also saw this rifle on another site, the T3X Ranahan in 223 rem and 350 legend only

Just like the guy above posted, you may be surprised what a good dose of RL 26 will do for 139-147gr pills. My 20" CTR gets 2725fps with 147's.

And you get all the issues that come along with double based powders. I used RL17 when I first started shooting Creedmoors and I settled on H4350 because it was far more consistent even if it was slower.

Regardless, if you run that same RL26 through a faster barrel it’s still going to be faster so it doesn’t mean that Tikka barrels aren’t slow.

Has anyone proven that tikka even has longer than SAAMI throats typically? Definitely wasn't true in my 223, wish it were. Haven't measured anything else.

I can go back and look in my note books but I don’t remember my CBTO being longer than the ones in my AINA WINTAC barrels that I used similar charges in and was running 100+fps faster with the 140’s the same .020” jump.

In the past i've gotten the impression that people are conflating issues.
Examples:
-6.5 creedmoor saami throat is long, if you try to get close to lands with a 140 hybrid the start of the bearing surface is going to be seated up the neck a ways.
-215 and 200.20x bergers have a long nose, getting close to lands in a saami 300wm throat is going to put you likely .200" past tikka mag length but that doesn't mean the throat is long.

It’s just users that are so emotionally invested in their choices that they always have to paint it in a way that there’s no flaws.

I guess they have hybrid throats where their long sometimes but not all the time 😂

I talked to Euro Optic and they have some UPRs coming in. The UPR flies under the radar but has a fantastic stock and a CTR barreled action/barrel contour.

There were a few 6.5 PRCs in the UPR on Euro last year. I regret jumping on one.

The UPR stock is a better hunting stock than the Bravo. I sold my Bravo. I’m not sure what the Rokstok has going over the UPR stock.

Maybe you’re the one emotionally invested that all Tikka barrels are slow.

I’ve got 3 that meet or exceed published data in the manual with my handloads.

Still waiting for you to post a picture of those chrono results you claimed from like a year ago to back it up. You’d think it wouldn’t be that hard to snap a shot of a magnetospeed screen at that range, especially when you can snap shots of you flipping off the camera while driving your minivan.

But regardless, I’m sure all of the other people from every corner of the internet that have noticed Tikka barrels being slow are wrong too.
