New tikka barrels cutting

The new tikka barrels flair out. So I was wondering if anyone knows on a 22” , how much can you chop and keep 5/8 24 thread?

If you're not opposed to an adaptor, you can go as short as you like. Lots of people cutting Tikka barrels way back and adapting to 5/8x24 with no issues at all.

Yeah that’s probably the route I’m going but if I can shave off 3” instead of 4 “ and keep 5/8x24. I would do that.

On a 20" barrel:
~2" back = ~.7" OD
~3" back = ~.68" OD
~4" back = ~.66" OD
