Anyone able to offer some thoughts on the fit of these pants? I've been considering picking up a pair since Kuiu is out of the Chinook pant in my sizing and hoping that they're not as tight in the calves as the timberlines. Appreciate the help.

Damn, was scared that was the case. As it is I can't layer underneath the timberlines I do own since they fit like skinny jeans.

WCS hope you don't mind me asking.......while we're talking about this pant, can anyone comment on the new fabric? I hated the old stuff, it just stretched more and more over a weeklong trip. Does the new nylon blend dry faster?

I just got a new pair and while I've only worn them on a couple light hikes, I'd say the fit is similar to the old model. The seat seems a little bit roomier, not BDU roomy, but I like it better. Legs might be slightly more tapered below the knee and the scuff-guard cuff is gone. Seems to be enough room for light base-layer long underwear, but I'm 5-8 140 so YMMV. Mine came with suspenders and I like the system better than the old belt for use with a pack. The new fabric seems "tighter" and less stretchy/baggy. Wash and dry time seemed to be the same as the earlier model. The cargo pocket layout seems better now, a little higher up on the leg. I like the new zippered front pockets. I also wear Crye G3 all-weather pants a lot (which are wonderful but crazy expensive) and I think the Sitkas are just as well made. I'll be elk hunting in them Sept 3 so we'll see how they perform.
