I cannot stand when a company releases a new product on social media, and the first handful of comments are from the social media influencers that have been paid to use or maybe even paid to just vouch for the product. One of the most use comments seems to be "this is straight fire"

It feels so incestuous.

Excuse me? What the actual F about this bag would cost THOUSANDS (plural) $2000+ dollars, to be made in the US? That’s got to be the most ridiculously defensive statement I’ve seen made in a long ass time.
Your post probably got deleted and blocked from Peax.
There’s a half dozen of us that asked pretty straightforward questions about the bag that got the same treatment.

Shame they don’t have the backbone to answer some simple questions, like AKEK did.

Their entire brand is just stuff off of alibaba that they stamp their name on…
100% .. you can find their "revolutionary" headlamp on alibaba for under $10/unit... then they buy bulk, get free branding and boxing all done in China, then pump it up nearly 1000% to sell here... no wonder they can give so much free sh** to influencers to pump at will as the best new thing. I have never, nor will ever, give money to their company

I actually made a joke about their influencer marketing strategy. I don’t really keep track of who they utilize, I just know my feed blows up with influencers every time they drop a product, talking about how amazing it is. So I posted a joke about what was going to happen. But I was DM’d by one of them and he did not take kindly to it at all. As if I made a personal attack at him and his business? Maybe he is more involved than I realized. Definitely a disappointment because I really like and respect the guy. He wasn’t one of the douchebag influencers, but a very respectable hunter honestly. Major let down. Oh well 🤷🏽‍♂️

No I can’t man. He might have just had a weak moment or maybe I struck a nerve for some reason. I don’t want to create some type of cancel culture towards him. I still respect him as a hunter, but I just can’t support that business model anymore, and influencers constantly pumping products that they’re getting kick backs from, and I explained why, and he cancelled me basically lol.

I've got a pretty good idea who it would be, it's funny that he actually spent the time to send you a DM.

On a related note, Peax is really the antithesis of what I think entrepreneurship should be, yet is what is exactly what is pushed by our current society. Don't add value, just swindled people out of their money.

I agree dude. I wasn’t even talking shit on their products, just the influencer marketing strategy in general. And he took it personal.

And MAYBE their opinions would be more valid if they weren’t using vortex optics and inferior packs and whatever latest knife company gives them a knife or constantly switching to “better brands” ect. Most of it is total bullshit, and any serious hunter can see right through it.

Man, x2 for sure, hate this. The utter rejection of it all is so refreshing a necessary.

I really detest their whole approach to getting stuff out there. Kinda like a Gritty video with discount codes etc popping up every 2 minutes. It could be good, but you can’t look past the ugliness of how they are trying to monetize it.

Absolutely. I’m pretty sure a lot of people feel this way, which is why I made the joke. A lot of people laughed, but one didn’t…..

Gritty flat out said on his podcast that he is incentivized to promote certain products, and that is how he makes a living. To be honest I don't mind that level of transparency, at least I know to take his review with a grain/pound of salt.

Its not hard to see who gets a check from Peax, just look at the post when the new bag dropped, its borderline nauseating with some of the comments.

On top of that, anyone with a link to the bag to purchase, is obviously getting a kickback.
Again, I have NO issue if thats how someone pays the bills, but some transparency would be much appreciated, particularly when, as someone put it, this is a potential life saving piece of equipment you are steering someone towards buying.

They would still need to maintain their 800% mark up I assume, you probably didn’t figure that in 😏

Lmao 🤣. You’re right, I forgot to account for that 😅😅😅.

With how they handle their responses about genuine questions towards this item, and my little talking to I got from one of their supporters for questioning their marketing and validity of their opinions. You won’t catch me buying anything else (yes I have a few Peax items) from them for sure.

I have a couple of their products as well, but they will never see another cent from me. There are plenty of equivalent products from other companies that I’d rather support, I don’t like how they operate.

I like their gaiters too, but not enough to support them, and there are still better options, from better companies

They will still sell product, but its funny to me how much Peaks gets bashed on Rokslide, which is a vast majority of the of their target consumer base. You would think they would want to keep us in good graces and want to have healthy dialogue whether they agree or not. Again, just another sign that Peaks is a fraud.

Their solution is to just silence who they can, and market even harder to the fan boys, via popular influencers.

Here’s a simple view point. Optics are possibly the most important part of western hunting. If you’re willing to use 5th tier vortex optics, just to catch a paycheck, you have absolute no interest in using “the best”. And then that can relate to literally everything else they push out to their followers.

Some of their gear may actually be the best or equal to it. But that’s just happen stance. If you’ll settle on your optics, you’ll settle on anything for the right amount of money.

Were starting to see through the crap, and they’re not thrilled when it gets pointed out IMO

These dudes are legit killers, and they just need something “good enough”, that they can get paid for using, and they’ll still get the job done. Then push that product like it was the reason they accomplished their goals.

And taking checks to push those “good enough” products is what’s allowing them to be out hunting for a job instead of working a 9-5. The time in the hills is what is driving the success and why some of them come across as such great hunters and not based on skill or knowledge
