Go to hunting gloves

I'm looking to upgrade/ add to my glove arsenal. I have used the 'wind-stopper' gloves from Cabela's for a few years, which have been good for what I needed. As with most things at Cabela's you cannot find them anymore.

I think a lighter weight softshell or fleece like glove with a little water resistance would cover me for a lot of my time outdoors.

Looking for recommendations, I have big hands. How accurate are the size measurements listed online for the given brand?

My go to for the vast majority of hunting are mechanix fast fits. It’s got to get really cold and wet before I got to something else. I also have some dakine gloves, no clue what model, I really like. I dislike Velcro closures on my hunting gloves due to the noise of getting them on and off

I am not a super big glove guy but the ones I use the most are Kuiu Strong fleece or Ultra Merino. They are light, keep your hands warm in most conditions that aren't crazy cold, and have good dexterity. Downside is minimal protection from sharp stuff.

I rock a pair of danner leather roper gloves most times. I’ve also got a pair of merino lined leather gloves.

Over time I trimmed off the Velcro tab for obvious reasons. I like the ease of on and off for 'go time', but like something that can keep wind out while walking glassing and general outdoor shit.

I utilize the black ovis merino gloves with silicone grip texture, I like those gloves. Down side of those are no wind blocking and don't look at any moisture.

Tractor supply Ridgecut Work or Mechanix fast fits most of the time. If it's too cold/wet for either of those then lightweight fingerless knit gloves under Kinco duck ski gloves.

I've seen several people recommend using nitrile gloves as liners. It works for keeping moisture out and light gloves feel warmer but I've found that I need to have a couple extra pairs because they trap sweat.

I tried these Black Ovis 200g gloves about two years ago and liked them alot for most conditions. I wore them down to about 15 degrees and were easy to remove quickly if needed. I use them while walking my half mile to work each winter day too from a remote parking lot. Colder than that and I will have to use a different glove.

I’ll wear Smartwool liner gloves when temps are in the 30’s-40’s and I’m glassing.

I use the OR Mittens as well when it’s really cold. I bought some Torrid synthetic mittens I can use inside the OR shells if it’s even colder, but hardly ever need them.

I use thin liners until it gets cold cold. I think the brand I used last year was hot shot or something. I like the Sitka ones but they are like 2.5x the price for the same thing.
