New limbs or new bow?

What would you do?

Fell super hard on my reign 7 during archery season this year. I ended up damaging the limbs pretty badly when I bashed them into a boulder. Ive been very happy with the bow and technology really hasnt improved since the reign 7 came out.

Would you spend the coin to buy a new bow or buy replacement limbs for your damaged bow?

Do we know for sure your cams/riser is okay? That would be the determining factor IMO. If you have to buy new cams and new limbs that can get pricy - IF they still have those cams/limbs available for purchase. Not sure how bowtech handles that.

I'm in a similar boat, but will probably do both (don't tell my wife). That way the next time this happens (and it will given how surefooted I am) I have a backup bow in the truck.

I’d get a new one if I had the money. Then when I was able, and actually wanted to get new limbs I would and then have a backup bow.

I would contact bowtech and see if limbs are available. Elite for example charges $100 for limbs not covered under warranty. Sometimes the manufactures will have components available for cheap on past models. If might be lots cheaper than a new bow if like @JeffRaines said about the riser and cams.

I agree that it's hard to know what else is damaged which could lead to a safety issue if it blows up at draw. Unless you can get a very good deal on limbs, I wouldn't even try it.

I would say that depends on how much you like the bow. If you like it, then fix it. Just make sure you remember (i.e. take pics of it now, and separate everything in an order that is obvious on reassembly) where all the cam spacers are, cable orientation, layout, and limb deflection location, etc. That all makes a huge difference.

I didthe same thing with my Experience a couple years ago and it's still a shooter. At the very least you'll get it back into condition you can sell it in if you do want to upgrade

If it were me I would take it to a bow shop I trust and have them check it out. If everything else is fine I would replace the limbs if the cost was less than half the cost of a new bow. If not I would probably buy a new one.

I've gone the new limbs route before and if you can't do the work yourself, its almost not worth the money and time. and you're better off just buying a new bow with the right specs that you want
