Went out to shoot my bow this evening. Mosquitos were wanting to carry me away. I happened to have the Tiburon along and put on a top to see how it would handle the heat (upper 80's) and stop the skitters. Relative to a cotton shirt, the Tiburon was cooler. Pleasantly surprised in a short test. Going to take them on a prairie dog shoot in a couple weeks. Likely to find out how it stands the heat. Curious to see what Ryan finds out on his bear hunt.

I wore mine last night while bear hunting. It is about a 3/4 mile hike and the temps were around 80 degrees. They breathe VERY well! I just had regular boxer briefs on underneath them and it seems to work just fine. I am impressed with their ability to not get stuck on sage and brush as well (so far). I did NOT notice a smell in them yet and I tried. I don't think I hiked far enough for me to really work up a sweat but I will know more after this weekend. So far, my first impression is that I like this series of clothing. I think merino boxers will be the key to the pants not stinking if and when they do.

When sitting in the blind, I could feel the breeze come through the pants, no other pair of pants I own would that happen to. Pretty slick.

For you guys that have worn the Tiburon pants how do you think they would me for mid September hunts? Would they be as warm if paired with a merino bottom compared to Attack pants?

thanks

No they would not be as warm. They allow a lot more air flow than the attack pants. But with a pair of merino when need these pant should be great for September.

I loved the Tiburon pants. The material has very little stretch compared to the attack pants but enough to still be very comfortable. Superlight and will be very cool compared to other hunting pants I have used. I will love these for august archery. The cut and fit is perfect in my opinion.

This shirt I don't love as much. More personal preference that anything. The cut and fit is nice but its cut very short. Not a big deal for heat gear I guess I would never be tucking it in and don't care if I get some breeze blowing in. I feel like its a heavy material for a hot weather top. It has stiff feel to it that would probably fade away with use. The material has so little stretch that you cant even pull up the sleeves. I cant hike out of a deep crap hole at mid day without pulling up my sleeves. Personally I feel like it would be an awesome warm season second layer. It will keep you warm when temps are low but still breath why you are active and would pack up in the pack and weigh nothing. I want a lighter weight blend crew tee both a short sleeve and a long sleeve real bad.

Tiburon with merino bottoms would be equally as warm as attack pants alone in my opinion.

I disagree. The Tiburons are quite a bit thinner than the Attacks and the Tiburon fabric is very breathable, letting sweat out and the slightest breeze in.

Your right Ryan no doubt the material is thinner and breaths more. But the Tiburon with merino vs the attack by themselves. Seems that would be sixes to me.

I wore my new Tiburon tops and bottoms and my merino wool base layers while shooting at the range today. Temp was high 60's - low 70's.

I am 6 3' and bought XXL for both. The bottoms fit perfect and I love the cut. Awesome.

The tops are cut a bit tight in the arms, especially in the forearms.

But, after shooting for an hour or so and running back and forth to targets out to 80 yards, I built up a nice sweat and they seemed to stretch and fit me much better.

As usual, the merino wool soaked up the sweat and stink.

The Tiburon's did not smell but I did not put them under too much activity when compared to hunting all day.

Overall, I really like them as they do breathe rely well.

+1 to Kuiu!

Can't wait to wear them antelope and archery elk hunting.

Thanks for the info guys. I decided to give them a try and ordered some pants but opted against the shirt. I'm hoping these pants will be a good early season pant and then throw on some merino bottoms if needed when it gets a little colder out.

Good call. Wish that's what I would have done. Pants are awesome. I too found the shirt cut to short and to tight in the sleeves. I will go crazy with a long sleeve that I cant pull up my arms when its hot. It wont pull up my arm more than an inch or two an I don't even have big forearms. I do like it as a second layer I think though. Juts wish I had a short sleeve crew neck version for 1st layer.

I would be a little concerned that there isn't enough stretch in the fabric to pull over your head. IMO

Huh didn't think about that but its a legit concern. Wonder if it would be bad news. I cannot stand a crew neck with a big oversized neck hole that looks like George Kastanza stretched it out.

Went by kuiu today after a project meeting checked out the tibiourn stuff and the pants are awesome for an early season pant. The Yukon rain gear in nice but definatly heavier but you can run the rain pants as your main pant with a merino layer under. That is what ill be doing for my dall hunt next year for sure

Just got my order in, the gaiters seem nice as do the Tiburon pants, don't really care for the shirt as much as I was hoping I would. Not sure I even want to wear it out on my scouting trip in the morning. Seems to have a weird cut short in the torso and NO give in the arms, when I pick up my arms to my face as I would when glassing the sleeves get real tight around my forearms making it uncomfortable. I like the material, but I'll prolly have to stick with merino as my upper body layers... Does the material remind anyone else of the C4E Switchback pant material? Anyhow I plan on hiking at least 3-5 miles tomorrow so we shall see how they handle a little warmth and the sage hills I hunt during September...
