Hey everybody, thanks for posting up. The new Tiburon Shirt and Pant are different than anything that is currently out on the market. We have been asked, what does it compare to and there is nothing. As for durability, we tested it in some nasty country here in California and it held up extremely well. It is not a paper thin warm weather fabric. It actually has some substance to it, yet extremely light at 8.5 ounces for the shirt and 12.5 ounces for the pant.

There is a good question on Jason's blog asking if the micro openings in the fabric were required with a breathable fabric. With adding the micro openings, The Dot Air fabric takes breathability to a new level by having even less restriction for the air to flow.

Let us know if there are any other questions.

No Soilid Colors?? Was hoping this time it would happen.

No order from me.

I don't understand the aversion to providing solid/earth tone in high quality clothing. Not a KUIU bash, as others (Core4, Sitka, Kryptek) are just as guilty.
Until they catch that wave, I'll keep looking for earth tones from Marmot, Patagonia, Outdoor Research, etc.

Kuiu Patrick, do the openings pickup debris or seeds?

I understand they are micro, but what was the trade off for breathe-ability?

E.g if you drug them across the desert, do they shed debris like the Attacks and Guide do?

Hey Patrick there was one question that came to mind that I saw another person ask on the blog too that maybe you can answer... If the pants are as breathable as stated are the side vents really necessary?

The side vents when open have a mesh liner that keeps debris out. The openings in the mesh liner are larger than the micro openings in the Dot Air Fabric allowing for even more air flow.

The micro openings in the fabric are also small enough to keep small debris out such as dirt, seeds, leaves, etc.

Any plans for solid colors? Maybe a ranger or foliage green or something in the brown/desert sand color?

Any plans for longer pants? A lot easier to hem than it is to add length on.

Was that a northern CA zone or A zone? Did you guys use them during the archery A zone? How well do they shed burrs?

A CA July hunting pant would be awesome.

Agree on the solid colors, I prefer them. I have attacks in brown and planning on getting some Valhalla in brown unless kuiu offers these in solid soon

I like this movement for solid colors! Lets keep it rolling.

Now... I'm sure they sell enough camo that they don't need us solid color buyers, but it sure would be nice.

There is a thread on the KUIU forums asking for a hat and vest in blaze orange. I 100% agree. If someone like KUIU or Sitka would make high quality vest, hat, jacket in hunter orange... they would make a killing. The only hunter orange stuff out there is very low quality with the exception of the Under Armour vest.

I hadn't thought about it much, but I do like the Attack pants in grey (right color?) and wear them all the time. The Tiburon's in solid could have even a wider application.

I called KUIU the other day to preorder another pair of attack pants in major brown (expected release in July). Love the solids as well as the vias. I asked them if they were planning a solid line of Tiburon pants and they said not at this time. I think brown Tiburon pants would be great for summer backcountry trips. Although the attack pant works great, at 8.5 ozs. the Tiburon would be sweet when the heat index rises.

When compared to our Merino products, Merino does a better job at controlling odor (wool is naturally antibacterial), but has less durability. The durable Tiburon Dot Air fabric is 100% polyester and has an extremely fast dry time, allowing moisture to be quickly pulled off your skin. The quick dry time stops bacteria growth, reducing and managing odor. If concerned, a light Merino base layer will work great. (huntography says the same above).

Solids were not ordered for the first fun of the Tiburon and I'm not sure what the plan is for future runs. I imagine if the demand continues, solids will be considered.

Do you have any images you could share of the fabric, like in someone's hand?

From the images I have seen it appears thicker and heavier that the lightest merino.

Wearing a merino base layer under the shirt completely defeats the purpose of a hot weather garment, not sure what you are getting at ther

First... I pre-ordered this stuff just to see, because I want them to work.

However; If it is supposed to be a warm weather hunting garmet, using merino underneath it kind of defeats the purpose, for me... I sure hope these garmets do not stink after working up a sweat because I am in need of something to stalk pronghorn in that is very breathable.
