New Kifaru Tactical Duplex with..... kuiu Icon pro 3200 Bag.... dodges the bottles...

Another Option. Lets play with some Quick Attach Triglides and Ghooks.

On the Kuiu Bag there is a small piece of strap looped. Enough to fit through one of the slots of the Ghook. Slide it through one.

Take the Quick Attach Tri Glide and put it through the loop. This will keep the piece of loop from siding off the Ghook and locks them together. The Tri Glide doesnt even hold weight just keeps the material from sliding through the Ghook slot.

Then take the Ghook and attach it to the frame.

The Grimlock holds the bag closer to the frame but if your worried about your 26 inch load lifter slot and what I pictured doesnt work for you then this will. No weight is really on the top of the bag because the bottom and side compression straps are what keeps the bag tight to the frame. But you do have options.

IM sure we could get creative and do something different then a grimlock up top its more for just keeping the top of the bag tight to the frame.

Yeah, I figured you did it that way to ensure that it ran high and tight to the frame. Using the Grimlok on the other side would result in some sagging and possibly some swaying of the bag. I doubt anyone would be loading a 3200 too heavy so this should be okay, but I would worry about the stress it puts on that point if you were to put too much weight in the bag. I would be more concerned with this when you try the 7200. I was thinking a rigid Malice clip or something on the loops used for the cargo panel may be a better option in that case.

Thanks for the taking the time to post up the photos. Looks like there's a few options to attach

Awesome ! I ordered some grim locks tonight. I have an icon 7200 I love the lay out of the bag but try as I might I cannot get the frame to fit my torso comfortably. I have a hunting duplex on order and a dt2 bag with some pouches and pockets I'm not super enthused about the dt bags but they seemed like the best option kifaru offered. If this setup will haul a heavy load I'll have the best of both worlds. The best frame on the market and a badass bag. Thanks for posting the detailed description and In-depth photos !

If you get your duplex before I get my 7200 bag post it up here I need to sell a few things to fund my Kuiu 7200 bag. Np love coming up with new ways.

Thanks SHTF. I have an Ultra 6000 bag and it doesn't have those tab loops down lower on the bag. That's why I couldn't picture it. I think it would be fairly easy to sew a sleeve on the Ultra or Icon Pro bags to make them fit over the top of the frame like the Kifaru bags do. It may be a few months before I order a frame, but I may try it when I do. If anyone else get's that itch in the meantime, post up pics!

I think you're onto something there. Want to contact John at Bear paw and see if he can see one in when I get my 7200

I know Kifaru uses a hypalon-ish fabric for the sleeve that the top of the frame slides into. I'm assuming I could use 500 or 1000d cordura if I was going to sew a sleeve onto my Ultra 6000 and it would work fine. What do yall think?

Yep should work fine.

This is exactly what I've been looking to do. But was hesitant in purchasing the two parts to make it happen. Awesome write up

I'm in and watching. I don't like any of the Kifaru bags myself and this would be perfect if it will really hold 100#.

Guys I will say this. He has the bag attached differently at the top than Kifaru bags obviously, but everywhere else the bag is connected to the Kifaru frame just like it does to the Kuiu. I have the Ultra 6000 bag, which is lighter than the 500D cordura of the Icon Pro bag SHTF has. I packed out a bull a few weeks ago and took out a rear quarter and a shoulder in one load; I'm being conservative and saying 115lbs, but probably more like 130+. I never had any concerns about the bag holding up to that weight. Yeah, the suspension wasn't great for that much weight but the bag and connections to the frame held the load as solid as could be and I was never concerned with anything breaking or not holding up.

Doing that definitely left me wanting a better frame and suspension, but I don't have any concerns with the bag holding up to 100+ lb loads.

I agree. Although Im not as hardcore as some of you younger guys and probably would never pack out a 100+ lbs I feel the same as these connections are the same way youd do it with any other Frame/pack bag that allows you to pack between the frame and bag. I have my stove sold so now to buy a Kuiu 7200 bag. I already spoke to Jon at Bearpaw he said he has no issue sewing on the Sleeve to the Kuiu Bag for me. So I think Im going to go that route with the 7200 Bag.

Can't wait to see it SHTF.

jquarnber - It'll be a few months but I'll be doing an ultra 6000. Looking to do the sleeve DIY with 500 or 1000d cordura.

How much is he going to charge you to do this? Seems like a good option for a budget Kifaru for those looking to get in for cheap. Old Duplex + Icon Pro 7200 could come in under $500. Looking forward to checking it out. I have some ACU fabric (I think 500D) if you would like some to make the sleve if Jon (or you) don't have something better.
