Looking to do the same thing myself with the Kuiu 6000 bag on the hunting duplex frame. Should get the frame in the next week or so. The Kuiu frame just didn't work for much over 40lbs for me but I do like the bag. Will probably add a 3000 and use it for backpacking if this works. Otherwise I'll be out another $400 or so for a Timberline bag. Worth trying if you ask me.

SHTF, I really like what you have done, I agree completely with your line of thinking on making things work for your situation. If you ever get around to attaching a pro 7200 with the new hunting duplex please show this pics. That combo seems like it would work well for my situation.

Interested in how a 7200 bag fits. I got in a good few days under my kifaru frame and I love it. I was worried I would miss the bikini frame but this thing is awesome. There is not a kifaru bag I love. So I have pondered this idea as well.

Exactly why I started this thread. It's good to know we have options out there. Kuiu has the 7200 bag in stock now I just need to turn more uneeded gear into cash to make the 200$. I try hard not to poor more cash into this stuff. God knows I have plenty to sell to make what I need for other gear.

SHTF,

Happen to know if an EXO bag can fit on the new Kifaru Duplex? ;)

I owned a 3500 last year. Its made pretty close to same way Kifaru bags are with the sleeve at the very top to slide over the frame. As for me ever trying that configuration... I have not but I bet it would work. If you can measure the sleeve from side to side I believe its 11 inches wide I can measure my Duplex to tell you for sure. Either way Im pretty confident it would work but lets match things up and see.. Im always down.

Awesome, best of both in my opinion. The KUIU bags are great and I would take one over any Kifaru bag if it fits the frame well enough to haul meat. I will be watching to see how those attachments at the top hold up.

Hey SHTF, did you try attaching the bag to the side common loops on the frame as well, wondering if that would work on the hunting duplex. If you have a chance can you take some pics of a load between the frame and bag? I'm really digging your setup

Yes but on my Tactical Duplex Frame I have the tab loops that actually work better as the side compression straps between the bag and frame. They match perfectly on the height where the kuiu compression straps fit in. I can get very detailed on exactly what I did and where I attached tonight for you guys. The cool part about this is other then 4 Grimlocks the straps that attach the bag to the frame as the compression straps are all the straps that come with the Kuiu bag from inside the bag. I can definitely do something different but they match the bag so felt they would look better and still function the same.

Where'd you get the grimlocks? I have an Ultra 6000 and have been planning on doing this same thing. I haven't seen any good pics like these yet. I was just planning on getting the frame and figuring it out. I was thinking of sewing a sleeve on my bag to go over the frame but it looks like this works great. Looking forward to seeing how it does loaded.

I see the grimlocks for the top of the bag, but can you show another picture with the ones you said are 3/4 of the way down? Thanks!

SHTF, maybe I missed it, but what frame size do you have?

Running the new Kifaru Tactical duplex with Carbon arrows. I went Tactical for the Coyote and for the more versatile attachment points. They Frames are only 7 ounces off between tactical and Ultralight hunting. Figured it was worth it. Heading home more to come can answer some questions when Im home.

Milapec Monkey has the grimlocks and the side buckles come with the kuiu bag, they did with the ultra at least.

hey Bounds,

You can get the Grimlocks at many different websites. Milspec Monkey is a great source or check ebay you can find them there.

Photo of where i put the Grimlocks between frame and bag, which probably arnt neccessary but I did it anyways are pictured below.

Here is a close up. On the back of the Kuiu bag is 2 tab loops about 3/4 of the way down when I put it on the frame they are the perfect distance for the Grimlocks

For all the Compression straps (2 on each side) (2 on the bottom of the pack). Here is how I connected those.
All 4 side compression straps are attached just like this

And the 2 on the bottom.

to release them just undo the top 2 Grimlocks 2 bottom Grimlocks let out the straps and you can carry your load between bag and frame.

For demonstration purposes I used a sleeping bag to show how the load compresses between bag and frame just like every other setup does it thats on the market

Side view

Front view

Bottom view. As you can see the 2 bottom Compression straps act as your load shelf.

Hope that gets everyones questions and requests. Let me know if you guys have anymore.

Cheers!!

There has to be a better way to connect the top rather than using your top load lifter loop flipped over like that. Do you think you could use some Malice clips or maybe the more rigid MOLLE Lok to the loop that the cargo panel attaches to instead? Some of us need that top lifter loop ;)

There is a tab loop on the bag side of the frame so you wouldn't have to flip the top load lifter loop over. I also assume if you did flip that top load lifter loop over you could still use it for the load lifter straps as well.

You can still utilize the 26 inch load lifter slot.

if anything it takes up a 1/2 inch of slack making it 26.5 inch load lift

IM sure we could get creative and do something different then a grimlock up top its more for just keeping the top of the bag tight to the frame.

You are correct there is but as you can see in the photo below it provides less support and doesnt keep the bag tight to the top of the frame. Im sure we could come up with a different way up there. If the Stay pockets where open at the top I thought about throwing in a longer stay to actually use the bag pockets on the stays. They fit the aluminum stays perfectly.

Lets check out some options for the top.
