NEW Kifaru Frame & Suspension Review

Well if Kifaru is really upgrading shipping like they said in their email you should have your frame in hand before your hunt.

Original date was 13th now they say September 3rd, gonna be close but should have it for the opener on the 12th just might not have much time to mess with it before season.

I am at work and my wife just called me to let me know I just received a BIG box from Kifaru. She sent me a pic of the box to torture me!!! The afternoon is going to drag on foreeeeeeevvvvvveeerrrrr! I can literally hear the seconds click by slowly. I leave on my sheep hunt on Saturday morning at 4 am so I have a day or two to get the pack dialed in.

Well I am heading up on a backpacking/fishing trip Friday so I better be able to get mine tomorrow. When I talked to them yesterday it sounded like mine ought to be coming in today.

Mine showed up yesterday, like the new lumbar pad , I doubt there will be many disappointed people once they get to open their box.

Doesn't seem like I will make the cut to recieve my pack this week. Hope I can have it prior to labor day hunting trip.

For those of you that have recieved their packs let's hear some reviews.

Mine has arrived ! I didn't see an email last week but it's here. Rosinbag's review is pretty spot on. Thicker foam and the frame padding seems feel like it conforms to my back better. There's a bit of cup in the belt that makes it lay on your hips and conform . Bigger lumbar pad with a much grippier surface. Very much a Duplex but more refined and a little lighter. If you loved your old Duplex I think you will like this one even more. Shoulder straps padding and the lumbar pad definitely feel a little different in a good way but overall it feels like a Duplex that is softer and hugs you a little closer. I don't think guys who've had a Kifaru before will have any trouble at all dialing the new frame in. The adjustment is the same basically but getting at the shoulder strap adjustment on the frame is way easier. IMO guys who are getting theirs the day they are supposed to leave shouldn't worry too much if you have adjusted a Kifaru before. A basic adjustment when you get it and a fine tune on the way in should have you there. If you haven't adjusted a Kifaru before then you need to watch the fitting video Patrick did for the old Duplex. I'm a happy packer


I got an AMR with it and one word can capture it...HUGE ! between the bag , two large side pockets , and a guide lid there is no way I'm running out of room. I love it

Edit : geeze ! I can't even get the bag name right ! Fixed it. It's replacing an EMR II that I just can't find love for.

Not a chance . It will be able to carry xxl winter clothes , 0º Long WM Kodiak , 5 days of fat boy rations , and a stove AND way more meat than I can carry all at once !

Still nothing here but I am trying to be patient. I ordered on July 14th with Aug 13th estimated ship date.

I leave on Sep 10th for two weeks of elk season and my dad is supposed to be using my current duplex. Full on panic mode if I don't get shipping notice by next Thursday.
