I'm still kinda laughing since you said you wouldn't get this frame :)

Me too dotman. But I watched a video Aron did and them computed the weight and realized what a tremendous solution this presented to me. Earlier this month I committed myself to hunting elk smarter and began looking for advantages. Carrying a heavy pack all day sucks, slows ya down, cuts miles off your hunt and makes ya sweat. Not a good thing. Last year I wore a Sitka Ascent 8 hip pack until it broke, then a Sitka Flash 20 day pack. Adequate but not ideal, especially if I drop an elk far from the vehicle.

After watching Aron’s Cargo Panel video, I took a harder look at the Hunting Platform Frame And Suspension and pulled the trigger on one in coyote.

To this I added a Cargo Panel, two small belts pouches and two large pouches (that will attach to the Cargo Panel if/when needed) and a Guide Lid all in Mandrake.

Throwing a Gunbearer on it too. Lastly I added a hanging hydration bladder. This cuts four pounds off my DTI pack weight which is almost half. At an estimated 13lbs (including 3 litres of water, kill kit, rainsuit and other stuff in pouches I should be able to move around fairly well. If I need to haul a load of meat I just compress it between the frame and Cargo Panel. And it'll work for float trips using dry bags (as shown in pic above). Now I will be able to trek light but won’t hafta make a trip to the truck to get a freighter to haul meat. A guy can change his mind can't he? <g>

You'll like it, I think the new cargo panel is one of my favorite items from Kifaru, very versatile.

faster might not be a good thing. My buddy just got his Emr ii/duplex in the mail and the stitching on the shoulder strap is already blown out and pealing apart. Not Ok on a $900 backpack

That should be an easy swap/fix for them, people are human and do miss stuff, good thing is we all know there is great CS behind the product.

They will make it right and fix it. I would send it in to them. I have a high camp 7000 bag that I bought used and developed a small hole. Kifaru fixed it for free even though I was going to pay. The fix was a PALS webbing on both inside and on the outside, and the they put a matching PALS webbing opposite so it looked like it was supposed to be there.

just disappointing when you spend that kind of money, and you are on a schedule to keep. Your much anticipated pack shows up and its defective. Now you have to send it back and wait some more and hunting season is just about here. I just feel bad because I helped talk him into kifaru and he is major disappointed.

Nobody's perfect but the guys and gals at Kifaru work pretty hard at trying to be. If you give them a chance they will take care of you. Their customer service doesn't stop at the sale.

Hmmmm...I had loose stitching on my Duplex frame when my DT1 arrived but assumed it was a fluke, now I have to question the QC at Kifaru. Whose inspecting these orders before they ship? Not doing a very good job whoever it is. Maybe they need to start inserting those "INSPECTED BY_______" labels with every order. Sure hope I don't have this problem on the new pack, it ships the 14th and I leave the 19th.

Don't think you will have it in time

Haha, no. Just don't see it making it from Colorado to Cali in 4 days. Ups is never that quick for me

They are so fast anymore (due to competing over Amazon contracts) that it rarely takes more than 3 days for me CA to CO at least. Only thing that takes longer is USPS "2 day" which is not guaranteed to be 2 day and I have had take almost 2 weeks.
