I have to say this bag looks fantastic. This is exactly what I have been holding out for in a pack and frame system. Well done team Kifaru!!!

As soon as you get your sales order email it will have the ship date. I ordered last Thursday my ship date is July 25th.

Kenneth, I ordered it at the end of March.

Some times I wonder how many of us have "won" a contest :0

Actually, the conversation went quite well. I responded, in a non-excited voice, "Oh, that's the pack I ordered back in March." She said O.K. and that was it. NOT EVEN THE EYE ROLL came out of her. But then again she thinks the pack I sold covers the cost of this one. :D

Once she left the house there was a big happy dance and then there was the cerimonial opening of the box. Everything looks great and can't wait to test it out.

I don't have it on my invoice. The invoice just says in Process as well. I ordered the Biki-Highcamp on April 4th. Have to be getting close. All the other items I ordered from Kifaru has it on the invoice. I calling Kifaru today for the expected delivery date.

It not in the top right corner? That's odd.

No where on the invoice. Talked to Kifaru. Their converging two computer systems. It was in the old system and not in the new and had not been ordered but paid for. Kifaru like always is making it right. My delivery date extended alittle. No big deal for me. Shit happens! I'll just have to use my gen 1 T2. That's painful! LOL!
Thanks Kifaru for making it right. Still the best customer service in the business.

Kifaru emailed me 15 minutes after I spoke with them on the phone with a new invoice and delivery date which is actually 2 days early than what the orginal date would have been. All things great with Kifaru.

Colorado baby!
So I finally finished hacking up my new BT1 in Highlander. Here's what I cut off:

  • Everything on Long Hunter lid except the pieces that attach it to the pack and the chamber pocket. Includes belt clip, delta straps, delta strap connectors, etc.
  • Snow collar
  • All hanging common loops inside the pack except the one chamber pocket set
  • Sleeping bag divider and all corresponding common loops
  • triangle shaped plastic connectors on side of pack - used to attach grab it 3 bar but I replaced with k-connectors

** I did NOT remove the water bladder holder. I love this, would never cut it out.

I modified my horizontal compression straps - on the top 2 I replaced with a QR buckle for easy access. On the bottom two I cut off the cinch strap holder and replaced with k-connectors.

I think that's it. The following are pics of total pack weight and all the stuff I cut off bagged up and weighed. A havalon knife works great for all the cutting. Not too bad for a 7000+ cu pack that can haul just about anything!

Nice G, you've got more balls than me. Hopefully I down a muley and/or elk this summer so that after I have it loaded I can make the decision on what to cut off

Took the BT1 on a bit of an overnight trek with the wife this weekend. 52 lbs. handled like a champ on some of the steepest country I have ever been on this time of year. I may be the first one to 'glaciating' in the new Kifaru, but something tells me Aron beat me to it. There is something really upsetting, yet amazingly fun, about covering a 1/2 mile and 1,100 feet in elevation in less that 2 minutes (when it took you more than a hour to walk up it).
