I agree! Congrats on a great find and keep after them! It’s funny I went out to check out a spot for deer the other day, ended up finding another squirrel honey hole. 3 more for the pot. Squirrel hunting is pretty close to the most fun a guy can have with his pants on

Those are beauties! I would love to get into some like that someday! I’d have a hard time not putting one or both of those on the wall. Thanks for sharing!
That’s awesome! I’m envious man. I love fox squirrels and those cool color phases really get me going. Nice mounts!Ha it’s funny you said that.View attachment 533878
I haven’t done anything with the tails specifically but I did home tan the hides from a couple fox squirrels and one giant western gray squirrel. They turned out pretty decent and are on a shelf in my office.Does anyone do anything cool with the tails? If I ever shot a black or a red squirrel I would definitely do something with them
Man, that's a wabbit hunter's dream!St. Valentines Day massacre in 2019... 3 of us killed 19 after a fresh snow between 9a and 3p. My wife was not too pleased but we were hood rich in phenomenal rabbit meat for a few months.
You'll love it that set up. My Tikka shoots the Norma TAC-22 subs really well. I'm not sure about everyone else's experience, but after ~10-15 shots my groups start to open a little bit. I assume this is from excessive powder build up in the barrel. I run a .17 poly bore brush and a dry patch down the barrel for a quick clean and things tighten right back up.@rharbaugh I just put in and paid for a Silencerco Sparrow. Can’t wait to use it on the little Tikka.
I shoot CCI SV as practice ammo generally and SK Rifle Match for small game hunting. Both of them group extremely well out of my gun and are pretty readily accessible. I tried the CCI Subsonic HP’s because they’re 40gr and very similar velocity to the SV and I just didn’t like the accuracy I was seeing. My Hawke Vantage IR is set for subsonics at something like 1050 or 1070fps, with a 50yd zero it gives me MOA or better out to 200yds.You'll love it that set up. P.S. - The CCI Quiet-22 @ 710 fps are incredible through a suppressor.
That is a .17 HMR Wet-dream! All the Backflips you could make them do from headshots!!
