Alright I set this up in the garage because I don’t want to deal with snow in AK. I left it setup in case anyone has any questions.
First, this is my first time with a Durston tent or buying from them. I had some questions when I purchased this tent, and someone got back to me promptly with answers, that is something I appreciate.
First to the specs I got on my scale, so there will be some margin of error. Durston lists the weight of the x dome 1+ on their sight at 34.7 oz. Without stakes and ground sheet. Below are my weights.
Tent body in stuff sack: 25.57 oz, 18” x 5”
Poles: 9.88 oz, 20” x 4”
Ground sheet: 3.84 oz
I have my own stakes but Durston does provide a small bag for them.
I used some of my own gear to give you guys some reference to sizes and space. I used a reg/reg neoair xtherm xlite nxt pad, Stone Glacier Chilkoot 15 bag, Stone Glacier Sky Talus bag and a PSE Mach 1 32”.
I’m confident I could get this tent into a xsmall SG compression sack. Everything lays out easily and is pretty intuitive to setup. The first time you set it up you have to connect the inner to the fly, from there you can leave it for combined setup if you choose.
There is for sure a lot of space for gear inside the tent and in the vestibule area. I’m 5’ 8” for reference.
