Standard RIP or RIP TKO would be great option. Both have been durable from what I have built the last couple years for people (30 dozen sample size). I’d also just stick with the stainless 50gr insert they come with now. I don’t see the cost benefit to using HITs with TI collars as they are pricey.

Old aluminum half outs were durable and protected shafts. Have seen those survive and have seen them bend just needing to replace the aluminum half out. The new SS 50gr should improved.

I’m weird and have running the same set up for prolly 20 years. Basic gold tip hunters in 340 spine, standard insert and 100 grain head.

I’ve used 50 grain brass inserts when I wanted more wieght for elk and bigger hogs.

26 inch draw, 60-80lb bow. Current rig is an lift x. 385 grain arrow going low to mid 290s.

I blew through a buck this year at 43 yards and had a complete pass through using my tied and rue reaper 1 3/8 3 blade pro series.

Only time I don’t get a full pass through is when the arrow sticks in the off side shoulder. I gotta check the journal but I don’t remember the last time I had penetration issues. I’m over 60 whitetail with the reapers.

Build an arrow that will get ya 280-290 fps and run it and go kill stuff. Jealous of yalls long draw lengths…

It’s a new stainless half out but covers the shaft a touch unlike other half outs. But less than their old aluminum half out options.

I’ve been running rip tkos for years the standard outsert is the weak link of the arrows other wise super tough difference in 250 spine and 300 is 0.1 gpi so going up a spine won’t penalize you in weight. I switched it up to a super lightweight HLR with titanium up front for a total weight of 377 shooting my phase 4 33 75# at 30” shooting 332fps it absolutely rips and is very durable. I would not hesitate to run the rip tko but don’t go with standard aluminum outsert they don’t stay straight for long.

Thanks. As of right now, I'm leaning towards the rip tko but plan to use a stainless or brass 50 grain hit insert. This puts me right where I want to be at 440-450 grains...

If you go HLR, you get the bonus of stainless steel 50 grain half outs included.

Smart you could also check into the podium titanium collar for added strength on top of the hit without adding much extra weight

They switched the aluminum out to SS? About time. Don’t know how many of those things I threw away when shooting the tko.

Thanks! Pretty sure they now come with a 50 grain ss half out. Harvested a doe today in the snow - so that was fun!
