New Argali MagnaCut Knives

Maybe I'm missing something but I don't see any pictures that show anything being mirror polished? The finishes look stonewashed/tumbled or maybe blasted.

Received my Carbon Magnacut a couple days ago. It’s awesome and no complaints whatsoever from my side, but it is far from a mirror polish.
I thought it looked like a stone wash in the photos. Can you post some photos? Is it more of a satin finish?

Looks about like their product photos. In what world is that a mirror polish? Mirror polished blades look like this (not my pics):

Not saying it's necessary or even desirable, especially for a hunting knife, but their marketing team should probably update that description because if I was expecting mirror polish and got a stonewash like what we've seen so far I'd be disappointed.

I might be blind but I cannot find anywhere stating the knife has a mirror polish blade.

The Carbon MagnaCut features the same award-winning blade shape of our standard Carbon Knife, but with premium CPM MagnaCut Steel for long lasting edge retention, mirror polish finish and Ruby Red G10 scales.

Now I see it! Yes they might want to change the wording. Still a sweet knife and company and imo way better than the influencer paid MKC knives.

Thanks for posting. Yeah I would update the description if I were them. And yes, I would actually rather have a stone washed finish versus a mirror polish finish. Just a technicality that needs to be shored up on their end.

I'll probably pick up a Magnacut Carbon before I head out this fall whether or not they update the description. Just an odd miss on their part, especially to double down on it in this thread. A 1.8oz knife with 3.25" of blade seems like a no brainer to toss in the pack for all but the most minimalist gram weenies.

Hey guys, just a comment on the mirror polish finish. I totally recognize that it is not the same finish that some other brands use and is not as shiny (to use a technical term). My apologies if any of you don't like the finish or feel like you were mislead. The finish isn't a stone wash or tumbled finish, but it is our version of a mirror polish. I understand your point and hear you and we'll talk through how to describe the finish in a way that more closely matches expectations.

Appreciate the feedback.

There just isn't a lot of room for interpretation in a description like that...everyone knows what a mirror looks like. Saying something is mirror polished indicates that it is polished to a shiny, reflective, mirror-like finish. Like chrome, or a mirror. Mirror finishes are sanded to a very high grit and usually polished beyond that to remove any and all visible pattern or markings.

Bead blasts can vary with different media. Tumbling/stonewashing can vary with different media, underlying finish, and time in the tumble. Satin finishes can vary with the grit and direction of sanding. Even the same type of coating can vary in appearance depending on the underlying finish. Mirrors don't have much variation.

Glad to hear you guys will be taking steps to describe it more accurately. Whatever it is called, it is a fine looking finish and a good one for a working blade. It's just not a mirror lol.

I really like the looks of the Serac MagnaCut Knife. How thick is the handle? Doesn't look much thicker than the blade. Is it easy to swap out the skins for something thicker?
