New Appliances

Bosch is the only DW worth buying that’s reasonably priced.
GE Monogram is a nice alternative to high end appliances.
Do not buy Samsung/LG anything.
Our Bosch dishwasher is doing okay, knock on wood.

And agree 100% on Samsung and LG.

Our brand new KitchenAid fridge had an icemaker that died in the first month in March. Still waiting for them to get it fixed.

Appliances seems like a market where a company can build one thing really good and the other thing not so much.

If you have to have all matching, then you’re kind of stuck with rolling the dice.

If you don’t have to have all matching, you can generally get better overall.

I agree on Samsung. We bought a house that had them in it. The stove sucks. The fridge sucks. The microwave has been good. Dishwasher blows a donkey dong.

Samsung and LG are trash.
Bosch makes the best dishwasher, id say whirlpool is second.

I have a full whirlpool set at our house now.

If you have a ferguson supply house go in and talk to someone on the sales floor. They do inventory swap every so often and sell displays CHEAP.

Our kitchen doesn't "match". Bosch DW is amazingly quiet and works fantastic. Avoid Samsung and LG based on some bad experience by me and a few other family members. Samsung puts all this cool tech in their stuff, but their core features suck bad and break often.

Buy the appliance you NEED and wait till you NEED to replace the others after they fail. Zero reason to upgrade them all just because, unless you have the money to do so and/or are remodeling.

Bosch is the best brand on the market, especially dishwashers. I would consider them for other kitchen appliances as well.

As mentioned above, Speed Queen rules the washer and dryer market. They are indestructible. Their downside is that their capacity/drum size is very small.

Our last 2 houses we have installed Viking ranges in them, zero issues with either. The current one is 25 years old and still works like new. Kitchen aid for the other appliances, have replaced both the refrigerator and dishwasher after about 15 years.

Working on an email right now for our Z line range. 36" autograph edition 6 burner. We had one new in 2022 then our house was struck by lightning. So we bought the second one. This one is all over the place temp wise in the oven while baking. Trying to get it resolved now. Beautiful units but PITA to bake with the way it operates at the moment.
We also did Bosch DW very quiet and does a nice job also bought the fridge/freezer with veggie drawer from Bosch (similar to previous one we bought pre-fire). Both doing fine.
GE front load washer/dryer set. Washer does great, huge load capacity. Dryer meh not real great at drying. Range and dryer both propane.

All of the advice on Samsung appliances is spot-on.

In 2014, we had an addition put on, and bought all new Samsung appliances. Fridge, stove, w/d, and d/w. The only thing left is the stove, and it's on its last legs.

I bought a Speed Queen dryer on FB a few years ago for $200. It's great. When the Maytag washer that we got to replace the POS Samsung dies, I'll be getting a Speed Queen.

As a former appliance delivery person. We would return a lot of LG, Samsung, and GE. Get a whirlpool, kenmore, and Maytag.

2012 build with SZ and Wolf still going strong. No regrets!
Bosch dishwasher replaced x 1.
Clearly YMMV but I can’t complain

Our oven took a crap on us and I was debating on getting the oven by itself vs all new appliances. Is it better to get all new at once vs buy one at a time while they go out and try to match the colors? I have no issues buying them all at once, with that said i wasn't planning on spending over $5k on kitchen appliances.
I research any appliance or vehicle purchases on Consumer Reports. I might check what models are available from local Lowes, Home Depot or other vendor. Check reviews online, or go to a store to look at different display models.

Styles, colors, and smart features are not top priorities. If I need to replace an oven then I try to find the best value that fits functional parameters and will be durable or serviceable.

We hate our old fridge, but it works, and is serviceable if something goes wrong. A new R600 (butane) fridge or freezer isn't serviceable if the compressor dies, then service can be near replacement cost. It's not worth replacing that working appliance just because we don't like the layout or the style of doors, or color.

Last three appliances I bought, clothes dryer, a cheap overflow freezer, and dishwasher were because an appliance died. When the water dispenser in the fridge died, I replaced the solenoid unit for $50. I don't really care if the trim on the dishwasher, fridge, and oven match. I don't care that the washer doesn't match the newer dryer.

Get the best value oven for your needs. Don't fix what is not broke.
