Anyone from southern Nevada or called around there before? I’ve been stationed overseas for the past year and finally getting to come back to the states for a couple weeks. I’m desperately trying to sneak some hunting in before having to go back, let me know if anyone has any tips or info.

Called in New Mexico, Texas, and Kentucky. This will be my first time in Nevada. I’ll be bringing a foxpro and pulsar thermal. If it looks like I’ll be able to call, I’ll have to pick up a rifle once I get there.

Born and raised in Las Vegas. Goodluck anywhere within reason. I’ve learned everybody in Vegas thinks they can predator hunt so they hammer the surrounding areas hard and they are way over hunted.
The further away you go the better. With that being said, I have called in bobcats within an hour or the strip so it is possible, just takes some work.

That’s good to know. From what I’ve been reading there’s no restrictions for night time/thermal hunting. Can you confirm?

If everywhere has been overcalled do you have any other suggestions for other types of hunting to do. Sounds like there are a few ducks that hang out in the area

My understanding is that there is zero permitted night/thermal hunting of predators, at all, anywhere in Nevada.

I’m going to have to reach out and double check but what the website says is thermals are only illegal for “game animals”. They classify coyotes as “unprotected” stating you don’t even need a hunting license to hunt them unless you are entering in a coyote contest.
