Either a typo or hornady is messing around with a 105 eldm/eldx/eld-vt, etc? I don't recall seeing anything about a tipped 105 from them off hand yet.

Could be the old tipped A-max that were discontinued. I believe those were 105's

The amax has been gone a while so I'd be surprised if that was it.

The seem expensive compared to the 108 eld-m seconds they have as well. I might wind up getting 100 just to satisfy my curiosity.

Actually if I had to put money down on something, I'd guess they're actually 109 seconds. The customer reviews on the 109 seconds had a handful of early ones that said they were advertised as 105's, so at one point they had a mistake in the description. Maybe that description got used again by mistake.

Can find 109 firsts for that price if so.

I ordered some, I'll disclose my findings once they're in hand. Tip color should indicate manufacturer.

Online photo definitely seems like it's from Hornady. Maybe mislabeled 106's as mentioned above?

"sample photos" are poor representation on the seconds. I've observed the sample midway photo to have a carnalurre, and the shipped product was just a tmk.

Oal has a variation of 0.013
Weight ranged from 104.86 to 105.3gr, vast majority in the 104.9-105.04 range. I chose 40 bullets picked at random from 3 100ct boxes. Ogive profile looks eldm family. The base to ogive measures same as my lot of 109eldms.

Thank you sir for being the Guinea pig. But now I’m even more interested in what they are lol. Are they the same as the 106 taps? Have you sectioned one? The mystery continues
