Being completely real, if you're already in the "not fun to shoot" zone I'd take the 308. You need to be automatic when the shot presents itself and minor unconscious flinches can make for a bad day. 308 will kill anything. My Elk rifle is a 6.5 CM.I should have stated that I'm a bow hunter and have only shot 6 or 7 deer with a rifle. Most with a 25-06 and all from a tree stand. And definitely not bragging about my jiu jitsu, I've been choked out by 120 pound women .......and didn't even pay for that!
I'm 5'7" 170 and can shoot it well enough for a few shots but it's not fun to shoot. I guess we will find out.
I shoot it very well. It's a Rugar American Predator I bought on GB for $350 and it's a legit sub moa rifle. I've shot it out to 400 but was told by my host to bring a .308 or bigger. I'm not an experienced elk hunter. Did a solo drop camp 10 years ago with the bow.Take that 25/06 if you shoot it well
Heeeeeck yeah.Take that 25/06 if you shoot it well
