Finished this one up just now. Took a bit between a work trip and then two sick kids.

Here's my hi tech set up. Cheap harbor freight 1x30 with a bigger work rest and a real simple bevel jig.

Upgraded to a Grizzly 2x42. I wouldn't say it made it any more easy, but a lot faster. Still getting used to it. Here is the first one with the new setup.

Gifted a few away to family and have added the rest to my collection. Have not sold any yet.

Great job! One option to consider, is that you can send your knife off for treat heat from a professional for not a huge cost.
Everything else doesnt matter if you screw up the heat treat, and you can tell them exactly what HRC you want it to be at.
