My first garage built knife....

These looks awesome. Did you have any experience with knife making or did you just jump right in? Any resources you’d recommend?
 
Awesome! Knives look good! Especially with using a 1x30 harbor freight. I made a few with the same belt grinder and they didn't look near that good. Didn't care for the 1x30 and coudnt justify a 2x72. I just got a 2x42 dayton but havent had time to use it yet. I would definitely consider the investment if you are already making knife looking that good!
 
Jig for the majority of stock removal. A little freehand with some high grit belts. I'll try freehand more down the road but for now a jig is the way to go.

post a pic? not sure how a jig would work.. but freehand is tricky..ask me how i know :-)
 
I'll get a picture tomorrow if I think of it. It's real basic, you can buy them that are much nicer and probably more precise. I just made one quick out of angle iron and tapped a hole for a bolt to adjust the angle.
