SD Muzzleloader Mule Deer 2012

Thought i would share my 2012 mule deer. Hunted alot this December trying to fill this tag lots of up and down but i got him 2 days afters xmas. Waited 2 hours before i could get a shot. The first hour i was waiting on a shot for a doe then he stood up. So plans changed. He didnt score great but his age (not much left for teeth)and character made up for it.

It was public ground and yes very cold. Snow stopped just enough for a quick pic

What range/rifle/load?

Shot him at 110 yards. Used an Accura V2 with 100gr of Longhorn and a Hornady SST. Gun also shot the powerbelts and Knights saboted bullets all in the same POI. So i was pleasantly surprised with my first muzzleloader.

I put on a 1x scope before the season. I was shooting better groups with iron sights bc the parallax was pretty bad on the scope but crosshairs were nice. Iron sights would cover up alot of the animal. Toss up what i will use next year.
