Great article with actual measurements of muzzle brakes impact on sound level both in front of and behind a test rifle. A must read for anyone considering a brake. It appears in most cases the noise level is about 2x behind the rifle.

Yeah seems like the 7 is a big step up in performance compared to the 5.

That is a great article. As I started reading I had several questions, and he answered almost all of them, and the couple he didn't were in the stay tuned for more section at the bottom.

And what it reaffirmed to me was that I'm done shooting without a suppressor. I'm even looking to suppress my 30/30....

I'd like to suppress the m1 garand and carbine, but I just cannot do that to them.
