From bzn and know a lot of the mtn tough crew but have never gone thru their program.
With the new years sale for + I decided to give it a try for 2026.
I have a good gym routine already but mostly cardio based. Will be good to get uncomfortable with a new workout plan.
For $96/year I thought it would be hard to beat.

I was considering joining but at my age, 60, dont know if their workouts would be too hard on the old body. I don't have any health issues, just haven't seriously worked out in years other than some rucking. I think they have a program they developed with Newberg for older folks. Has anyone tried the old folks program? Would like to know before signing up. Thanks

A decent, consistent cardio and strength/powerlifting routine is plenty to get tough enough and you don't need to pay $96/yr for it. Consistency is the key and without that it does not matter much what you do. Any gym coach/instructor can formulate a plan for you if you tell them what your goal is, when you want to reach it and what your limitations are. You won't know exactly what is too difficult until you get into it. Most people are more limited by their mind and ambition than their physical ability. It's not rocket science that you have to pay for, really. However, if you think it's easier to just pay up for that type of plan subscription, that's OK too. 100 bucks these days for just about anything is cheap.

They have a over 50 program that might be a fit for you.

Sorry I did not read the whole message. I started on the Newberg program (I'm 52) It was a bit less than where I was at so I went with the regular program. I have been doing Mtn Tough for 3 years now so it might be pretty good for someone who has not exercised for awhile.

I’ll throw in here, too: you have 100% flexibility in making it what you want. You do not need to be at 10/10 intensity like the filmed athletes.

Many people use it as a template and guide and go at their own pace (much slower than the in-gym folks). A comment we hear all the time is “I just want to be told what to do and for it to work…” That’s exactly what the programming does.

The program with Randy is still circuit-style, but lighter in weights (sometimes none at all) and lower in intensity. You can impose those same safeguards in every program in there if you needed or wanted to.

There’s never a better time to start than at 60!
