Mtn lion(s) kill 15 dogs in 30 days (Colorado)

Cannon says the lion attacked a dog at a home 400 yards from Andelman’s and that during the attack, the dog’s owner killed the lion. She reiterated what Peterson had said, that it’s illegal to kill a lion to protect a pet but that in this instance CPW won’t be pressing charges due to “the totality of the circumstances.”

I live and run hounds in the general area, there are a lot of cats in the developed areas on the Front Range. They don't get hunted and as a result never learn fear of people and dogs. There are plenty of us that would love access to run our dogs in the area, but the type of people that live there don't like that idea. This is precisely what they deserve.

Has anybody read the book "A Beast in the Garden"? It's literally about this exact same scenario in the exact same region but took place 20 or 30 years ago.

I used to live in Ned which is how I came across this book.

Edit: This should be required reading if moving into the mountains of Boulder County or anywhere along the Front Range. Then maybe people wouldn't be surprised when a mountain lion jumps a 6 ft fence with a German Shepherd in its jaws. (That happened near Nederland and is detailed in the book).
