I've got several but the first choice is my Wilson Combat CQB 1911 in 10mm. It will eat 220gr hardcast Underwoods like candy, is 100% reliable, 10 rounds and hits what I point it at.

The 329PD is a great gun but brutal to shoot. Greatly prefer my Colt Kodiak. It will handle Underwood Hardcast HEAVY LOADS with ease.

I'll carry a 38spl+P 3 inch Ruger LCRx since it's light and I can shoot it. Another possibility is an HK P2000Sk but it's definitely heavy enough that I notice it,

If I'm hunting in an area with grizzly, I carry a 10mm Glock 20 in a chest holster. If I'm hunting or scouting in a place like Colorado, then I carry a Sig Compact 1911 in 45 acp which is attached to my bino harness. Anywhere else, I have a 380 in my pocket.

Because of people, bears, cats, wolves etc., I don't go on the mountain anymore without a pistol.

I carry a g20 10mm with 200 gr hardcast bullets, in a razco harness under my marsupial bino harness. I take it on every scouting, or hunting trip, doesn't matter if I have a bow or rifle, I like having it on me all the time. It kind of sucks quartering a elk with it on, so I started packing a super light hip holster to put it in when I'm taking care of an animal, or after I drop a load and empty my pack at the truck. I have a compact Taurus 9mm, been thinking about packing this instead on rifle hunts.

I put a set of hogue grips for the 500 S&W on my 329 and it made a big difference. Now it's fun to shoot half to a full box of 300 grain hard cast.
