I like the Heathers Choice meals, but have found that they don't appeal to everyone. Some of this may have with how you are used to eating. They are intentionally high in fat, so if you aren't used to a diet of high fat/ grain free, then they may not suit your palate at all. I've read that a lot of people can't get past the beef gelatin in the breakfast meals. It tastes fine to me, in fact I really like the breakfast meals. The HC meals are certainly closer to the types of meals that I eat at home than any of the MH offerings.

I agree with all of this. I've liked all but one of the HC dinners and really enjoy the breakfasts and packaroons. Her food most closely mirrors what I eat at home. I could see where someone with a diet with sugar in it with some regularity would not enjoy the breakfasts, they are not at all sweet, but I really enjoy them. I also like how nutritionally dense her food is, way more so than mountain house.

I would buy the buckwheat breakfast in bulk like a cylinder of oatmeal if she sold it that way. I definite associate the tastes of those breakfast meals with big time adventure

Try Order Hawk Vittles

The cowboy pasta and southwest lasagna are really good.

Does the packit or hawk have paleo options? Trying to find strict paleo dehydrated foods is nearly impossible. Jerky has too much salt, everything has rice or pasta, added sugar you might as well just pack candy bars. Fresh fruit only lasts so long until it's squished at the bottom of your pack. I would assume if you order heathers choice foods and are not already on a paleo diet you'll find them horrific.
That sampler pack you bought... Which ones do you have left? I'll make you a decent offer.

take a look at Paleo Meals to Go...Shop - Paleo Meals To Go
I have found them to be quite good and much lower in sodium than Mtn House. They are much more expensive but I think there is a 25% coupon floating around the internet

Some of those look pretty good. I'll have to give them a try... Except the beef stew... IMG_3656.JPG

Thank you for providing other options tho.

Packaged up my efforts from the last few days. Going to get busy in the next weeks so I've got these ready to go tucked into the freezer. More rice and beans than I normally eat these days but I'll be burning it off.

Elk mexi rice, elk/peppers/pasta sauce/rice, chili, sweet potato & nut butter (breakfast).

I didn't buy sampler pack. It's all gone. I eat pretty much paleo now and really only HC stuff I liked somewhat was salmon and cherry chili...wait I did really like banana buckwheat. Think it's more her choice of spices. At same time I make my own habanero hot sauce so maybe just my more southern taste.

Hawks wasn't over powering sodium or spice wise. I can't stomach mountain house much. I make a lot of jerky and dried sausage every year and I personally can't hardly eat commerical jerky, they way over salt/cure it
