Last Saturday morning a mate and I headed out for some local hog hunting. I have been working up loads for my 338/06, so was a good hit out for my custom setup. Live pics are not real flash, my camera was playing up.
We went into a gully to check out some rooted up pasture, spotted a mob of 4 and some suckers a few hundred metres off. Getting down wind we stalked right in and watched them for a while, looking for others. The grass was pretty long and the pigs kept dropping into their furrows, so getting good sight pics where we could both shoot at the same time took a bit of waiting. Eventually pork filled both scopes and we dropped pins, cracking both targets, then WWIII began,
porkers going everywhere. My mate cracked a big sow way out with his 30/06, and then I spotted this bloke contouring at about 200. I followed him in the crosshairs till he stopped near a lantana bush. The deal was for my mate to shoot a goodun, but it was know or never so I give it to him and down he went.
Always first class hunting when you have deer and pigs in the same country.
