Not sure what’s going on here? Batteries died maybe? Regardless, first time it hasn’t checked in…

OK, but be sure and call CS as a last resort. They need to know. and there's a small chance they can reconnect.

and a few questions:

1) what type batts (lithium or alkaline)
2) How many pics per day were you receiving
3) do you remember what setting you had photo on? 0 seconds, 15, 1 minute?
4) what upload frequency? (Immediate, 24 hrs, ?)

that should've ran a year.

Only extra drain is on battery if cell signal is super weak, but still.

Call CS.

I'm calling it as a complete cam fail, not battaries. Could be wrong but like I wrote above, it did happen on one my cameras.

Moultrie CS has been very helpful in my experience (in the last week) and they can do a lot to see what's going on. Mine had the IR illuminator go out and they told me to give it a bath and they'll send me a new one. Pretty sweet deal.

I have had several occasions where the batteries went from showing 35-55% to dying too though.

thanks and yes, their CS is really good.

I'm glad you mention the battery meter. I've seen some strange stuff a few times like that. 35% battery, then it dies. I'll call CS and they confirm, visit the cam and sure enough it's dead.

but most of the time with alkaline, it's been pretty reliable down to about 10%, then it can die any day.

Spoke with CS on this. They were great, but unfortunately, I need to go to the camera and check to see if the batteries are dead or it needs to be reset. It sounds more like a connection issue over the batteries but there was no way to tell from home. I wont be able to get to the camera till this summer.

thanks for the update.

My money is on complete cam malfunction, not batts or disconnect.

This is why: I've never lost a cam due to disconnect, just bad cam or dead batts. and I operate in sketchy places. I've seen them not connect for up to 3 days but then come back on.

Let's revisit this come summer. I really wanna know.

I have two of the new edge solars and I really like them. I never had to change a battery!
Good to hear, that’s one thing I have not tested. In the past with other brands, I’ve had issues with squirrels, chewing wires, and wires coming unplugged. Any issues with that?

Nope, this one has the panel attached to the camera itself unlike the older version and there are no exposed wires. The panel itself is adjustable so you can get the correct angle you want. It also comes with a replaceable lithium battery that gets charged by the solar panel.

Since my wife and I started a family in 2022 (two young ones now), scouting time has been incredibly difficult to come by. In the years past, I would spend alot of days in the high county June - August finding bucks, bulls and bears. Come hunting season, I always felt pretty confident that I would at least get an opportunity or two. However, the last couple season, the lack of scouting and its effect on my season has become glaring obvious. I knew I needed to change things up a little or risk my freezer looking a little barren and that's where the cell camera came into play.

I spoke with @robby denning regarding the Moultrie Mobile Edge 2 Pro (see his ongoing thread here) and he had nothing but great things to say about them. I recently received four and plan to get them out in the field here as soon as the snow melts off a little more.

I had originally planned to place them in Eastern Washington for Mule Deer and Whitetails, but with our new "no baiting" rule that just passed, my plan wasn't going to work out as well as I thought. I have pivoted and now plan to run them in the alpine and on a migration corridor and try and catch a blacktail worthy of hunting this year. If anyone has any tips, I am all ears!

I will be getting them all set up on the app in the following week or two and will post my progress/pictures as they come about.

Hopefully you will follow along!
