It's not an issue of speed...it's an issue of weight and suspension primarily.

I'm not saying a guy can't hunt with a TW200. I'm saying a guy can't hunt the same places with a TW200 that a guy on a Beta X-Trainer or even a CRF250F can hunt.

I get the appeal of a TW200. Low seat height, relatively low cost, ability to legally ride roads. I'm simply telling you no serious trail rider in Idaho chooses a TW to ride the backcountry. It simply has too many limitations. For about the same money, a guy can buy a CRF250F and be much better off.

I’ve packed out a lot of elk qtr’s on it. I’m not into motocross or trail riding. If my horses would ride in the back of truck as easy as bikes after 20 hrs, I’d much rather roll that way, but I digress. I hate carbs

what do you tell those old timers on the old school Honda fat cats packing out their 17th bull.

I'm an old-timer (53) and well past 17 bulls. That doesn't change anything about the bikes I mentioned having the ability to access more trails than a TW 200 does. It might surprise you to know I've packed out bulls with a Fat Cat AND a TW 200 over the years...which I how I know they are both vastly inferior to the bikes I've mentioned.

Let me put it in simpler terms......I have an old 30/30 in my safe next to my custom 6mm Creedmoor. While I can certainly kill elk with that 30/30, I know the 6 gives me more flexibility to do so. Same/same with the bikes in question.

No one said a man can't use a TW200 to pack elk quarters or access more remote areas. I'm simply saying there are bikes that do that BETTER. If you can't understand that, it's because you've never utilized those aforementioned bikes in the wilds.

You've freely admitted you're "not into trail riding"...yet you continue to argue the point. The internet is never not interesting.

There’s a reason why Fat Cats and Big Wheels are no longer made. So if you are still using them let alone packing out on them, then you have a Gold Man Card.

I’m not arguing against that, I’m with you, every time I see an old timer packing a bull out with one he gets the nod of respect, point is it’s worked so he hasn’t needed change, he only uses it for hunting

Nobody said anything about a raptor. And the mentioned x-trainer and 250f are IMO far from being anything badass. Though compared to a TW I can see how you might think that way

If we’re just exaggerating for effect….YOU’RE right…a flintlock is all that’s necessary for rifle hunts. After all, old-timers have killed a lot of bulls with them.

It’s okay to admit you’re out to your depth with this one. We’ve all been there, or at least I have.

Feel free to ride (and recommend) whatever you like. I truly don’t much care. I just think you’re doing a disservice recommending a bike that’s inferior by ANY metric that matters for would-be motorcycle hunters.

You still hunting with the same rifle/scope you killed your first elk with?…careful, if you smell a trap it’s for good reason.
