25 prc? 25-7 prc? Experiences? Gotchas? Intangibles?

Gun is still pretty nifty.

57.7 gr and 133s put 5 into a continuous hole (top group is my buddies new 6 creed ph3-nrl).

Im starting to get some clickers on the 2nd loading of adg brass.

Not sure what the solution is there. Probably 300ish rounds into the gun. I cleaned it throughly. But may give the throat some extra love if its a carbon ring.

SAC dies. Pbb barrel. I see discussions on the AW2 reamer. Not sure what pbb uses, or if one exists for a 25 prc.

I may be mistaken but thinking I read that the AW2 reamer cleans up only the base area of the chamber so it could be used just fine in a 25 PRC.

Does a slight shoulder bump not clean up your clickers?

Ive never played with a reamer. I assume that they pilot into the throat for concentricity. If my assumption is correct you'd need a 25 prc AW2 and a 6.5 prc one wouldn't work. But maybe im off base there. But either way im ignorant to sourcing one.

My understanding on clickers was that they were more related to the base expanding. Which the sac die should address, it sizes all the way.

There hasn't been many clickers, it could just be the brass from the hotter end or load dev working thru the process. But I have noticed heavier bolt lift as of late, same batch/same load i made in September-ish, started having bolt lift in October before my hunt. So maybe carbon ring?

Mine is a 25-7prc but I've been having clicker issues too. They usually show up once the brass has a couple firings. Not sure what the answer is but I'm looking for a lower velocity node to see if that helps. Right now I'm shooting 134's at 3175 with 70.5 grains of n570
20" barrel.

Whos barrel?

That WTO reamer does not have the AW2 specs, it measures out to Saami dimensions, so clickers can show up. My 25-7 had clickers show up on the second firing. I backed off the powder a little bit and the problem is solved. The case head expansion was around .0008” when I had clickers, and now is around .0002” with no clickers and the powder charge backed off, so the clicker showed up when the load was maxed out, probably over pressure, but pressure signs are anecdotal. FWIW, the 133 Berger is traveling 3180 fps out of a 22” barrel with H1000. N 570 would more than likely get me a little faster.

Note- the AW spec reamers are a couple of thou larger in diameter at the .200 line, and yes, you will need one caliber and cartridge specific to open your chamber up.
