Method for getting water out of a seep?

Hello all looking for methods for getting water out of high coutry seeps ? People have said a small piece of irrigation pipe? or a trecking pole ? whats your go to method. Thanks in advance Jason

This is how I have done it with trickles - make a little dam and give it a bit.

I have used my MSR titanium cup to dig out a seep a few times.

I carry a 16” length of 3/8” pvc pipe. It has a bunch of I/8” holes drilled in one end kind of like a radial muzzle brake. That end is wrapped with a piece of nylon screen held in place with 3 small zip ties.

I’ve never quite been thirsty enough to drink out of a mud puddle, natural, wallow or hand dug. Not saying there’s anything wrong with it.

Typically, during the season, I'll dig it out and create a small pool to collect water. If I can use some rocks to make a dam, I'll do that as well.
Before the season, if I'm in an area with limited water, I develop a water source by digging, damming, and installing a section of poly water line with a sponge filter on the input end. The length of the pipe depends on the area, but I prefer it to be far enough away that gravity keeps water flowing out of the pipe. It often needs to be maintained during the season, but it usually doesn't take more than a couple of minutes.
