Mesh Layers

This may sound crazy and I probably won't get any because I don't want to embarass myself, but have any of you tried out mesh base layers? Just read about them and it seems like they would be the best in terms of functionality. Lighter/faster drying and even warmer I guess bc there are more air pockets. Other than looking like a male stripper there doesn't seem to be a downside. Just food for thought. I'll stick with my merino for now though hahaha. Brynje is a Norway brand that makes them just if you wanna see for yourself.
