Meopta still in business?

A month after paying $80 to send in my Meostar 15x56's for a collimation issue, I finally get a $516 quote for repair and return shipping, bank transfer only. This makes the total repair $600! This was higher than their top estimate! I have no idea how the binos failed, as I have not dropped them and they had no sign of damage except double vision. I would highly suggest using another optic brand.

Interesting. I experienced a similar collimation issue with my 15s in late 23 (purchased in '22). I baby the 15s much more than my 8s and 10s. It seemed to happen out of the blue. The repair cost me $240 in early 2024.

I probably won’t have them repaired, as I I don’t want to risk experiencing this again, especially since have no idea how they failed.

Yikes, that’s not a good look for repairs. No wonder there have been some pretty steep sales on Meostar scopes and binos lately.

Dang that is disappointing. I was trying to pick up one of the new scope they offer, the MeoHunter. Thankfully no body seems to have them so I haven't, but I don't want Chinese crap.
