This all comes as bad news as I thought I found the ideal company for high quality on a budget. Currently deciding on binos. Alternative suggestions welcome

GPO Passion HD's are amazing, priced way below their comparables and have a lifetime no fault warrantyThis all comes as bad news as I thought I found the ideal company for high quality on a budget. Currently deciding on binos. Alternative suggestions welcome
A month after paying $80 to send in my Meostar 15x56's for a collimation issue, I finally get a $516 quote for repair and return shipping, bank transfer only. This makes the total repair $600! This was higher than their top estimate! I have no idea how the binos failed, as I have not dropped them and they had no sign of damage except double vision. I would highly suggest using another optic brand.
I probably won’t have them repaired, as I I don’t want to risk experiencing this again, especially since have no idea how they failed.Interesting. I experienced a similar collimation issue with my 15s in late 23 (purchased in '22). I baby the 15s much more than my 8s and 10s. It seemed to happen out of the blue. The repair cost me $240 in early 2024.
I appreciate this recommendation, they weren’t on my radar at all. Looks like they’re generally about $1000 new?GPO Passion HD's are amazing, priced way below their comparables and have a lifetime no fault warranty
At this time it has to go to Meopta in the Czech Republic, [email protected] , [email protected] or [email protected]Any contacts in U.S. for Meopta service yet? I need a pair of Meostar collimated. Or am I just better off going to an independent?
I ended up paying close to $600 to have my Meostar 15x56's collimated. $450 for the repair, $135 in shipping. $50 for the bank transfer fee. It took almost 3 months. I got them back last month. The price of repair has since gone up! The only part replaced was a $20 rubber eye cup. I regret having them repaired. I should have just put the money to a different set of binoculars that I would not be hesitant to take in the field.
My advice it to avoid Meopta completely.

Coulnd't agree more. Love my HD 10x42's, but I'm writing off any new Meopta purchases.I emailed them several times regarding if they were still honoring the USA warranty and if it was still transferable for their Meopro riflescopes, but only received an automated response. I was considering buying a pair of the Meostar binoculars that are currently on sale, but will pass due to their nonexistent customer service here in the US. This is a shame because they made good quality optics and had great customer service.
