Meopta still in business?

This all comes as bad news as I thought I found the ideal company for high quality on a budget. Currently deciding on binos. Alternative suggestions welcome

A month after paying $80 to send in my Meostar 15x56's for a collimation issue, I finally get a $516 quote for repair and return shipping, bank transfer only. This makes the total repair $600! This was higher than their top estimate! I have no idea how the binos failed, as I have not dropped them and they had no sign of damage except double vision. I would highly suggest using another optic brand.

Interesting. I experienced a similar collimation issue with my 15s in late 23 (purchased in '22). I baby the 15s much more than my 8s and 10s. It seemed to happen out of the blue. The repair cost me $240 in early 2024.

I probably won’t have them repaired, as I I don’t want to risk experiencing this again, especially since have no idea how they failed.

This is a bummer, I was going to pick up the Meostar 1.7-10x42 for my muzzleloader.

Yikes, that’s not a good look for repairs. No wonder there have been some pretty steep sales on Meostar scopes and binos lately.

Dang that is disappointing. I was trying to pick up one of the new scope they offer, the MeoHunter. Thankfully no body seems to have them so I haven't, but I don't want Chinese crap.

Does anyone have a way contact at meopta? I have a meotac that has a parallax issue and can't get any answer from them through email.

Any contacts in U.S. for Meopta service yet? I need a pair of Meostar collimated. Or am I just better off going to an independent?

I ended up paying close to $600 to have my Meostar 15x56's collimated. $450 for the repair, $135 in shipping. $50 for the bank transfer fee. It took almost 3 months. I got them back last month. The price of repair has since gone up! The only part replaced was a $20 rubber eye cup. I regret having them repaired. I should have just put the money to a different set of binoculars that I would not be hesitant to take in the field.

My advice it to avoid Meopta completely.

That sucks. I guess it was a good idea trading mine off after all :-(

This makes me sad, I was interested in trying the meopta optika HD binos but I think I'll buy the Leupold bx 4 pro guide because of this report. At least I won't have to buy them twice. I also have the Kowa bd ii circled but the Leupold warranty is attractive.

I emailed them several times regarding if they were still honoring the USA warranty and if it was still transferable for their Meopro riflescopes, but only received an automated response. I was considering buying a pair of the Meostar binoculars that are currently on sale, but will pass due to their nonexistent customer service here in the US. This is a shame because they made good quality optics and had great customer service.

What a scam. That’s total BS.

Checking them off the list.

Coulnd't agree more. Love my HD 10x42's, but I'm writing off any new Meopta purchases.
