Any chance you grabbed an underside pic? IDs from the top are like IDing like the back of someone’s head might be a chanterelle which would be great for you! What state?Spotted these babies today… only 5-6… about 2” across
Mushrooms are like 1 night stands... you don't eat em.

Color seems to carry through… I thought they are chanterelles… but now not so sure… I thought the fins vs. gills where a good thing thoughI’m pretty sure you’re working with a chanterelle there! Seems like a subspecies so we should find an inquiring mind from your geographical region to confirm. Are you close enough to cut them open??? They should be white and solid inside
Too early for chanterelles here, but my pink oyster patch was in full flush today. Harvested about 2.5 lbs!View attachment 572281
I actually grew these in an outdoor straw bed! Super easy to do and is a great way to get by until the next mushroom season. Those look delicious!!! In your area, do you just find pinks or golden/others? Curious because my neck of the woods has various white/gray but 99% golden
Think hen of the woods. If so some of the best eating mushrooms there are. Gotta get a positive id on them. I use an app and ask local old dudes who have been in the mushroom game longer then I’ve been alive. Not a shroom guy. What might these be?

Thanks. Its seems like thats what they might be after looking that up. I was going to mention they were found at the base of an old dead oak tree and thats one of the first things the description said.Think hen of the woods. I use an app called picture mushroom that seems to be super accurate, it’s like 25 bucks a year but worth it.Thanks. Its seems like thats what they might be after looking that up.
