McMillan Mountain Tracker LR - Tikka T3 Dev Project

I just sent Lynne an email regarding the barrel channels. Sent a photo of mine as well as the link to this thread.

Fwiw my barrel is centered, channel itself is off a little.
Mine is so minimal I didnt notice until this thread's comments. I won't be sanding it to match.
As above mentioned, odd the channel is off. The tnuts are centered and the lug is square however

Gun was consistently 1.25-1.5” 10 round groups in a xlr mg 4.0

First 7 out of the gun after zeroing in the new stock was impressive. Factory hornady matchIMG_8157.png

I am watching and waiting. Hopefully this first batch ran the kinks out, they fix the mold for a centered barrel and there is more feedback. Very interested with this model vs the RS and the shoot ability.

I agree, seems a little shady. I guess though from their perspective its if you want it bad enough then you can pay to play.

DO they do spacers or anything to adjust lop?I realized with the rokstock that the negative comb can take a little fine tuning.
The weight will quickly increase with spacers or any other LOP adjustment

Is everyone generally happy with the performance of these stocks so far? I have been very happy with the few I have.

I'm happy with the stock. Aside from the barrel channel being a touch off, which ordering a larger bc inlet avoided any problems from, I don't have a complaint. I'm not a group measurer, but the first group I shot with it may be the best group I've ever shot with a rifle except for one that was a touch out. A less than 9lb, 7 PRC stayed on target with essentially no muzzle rise from a non secured forend...it did what it was designed to do and did it well.

No complaints, excluding barrel channel inlet, doesn't mean the stock is everything I wish. I wish there was a light version that was trimmed down a bit and rounded...but...that's a different stock. That's a wish based on my prejudice towards light/slim/trim. This one is very good and I'm happy with it.

Hey guys, I asked this in the Optics forum as well.

What rings are you guys using on your setups with this stock. I have a Mountain Tactical Raptor Med 20MOA mount on mine. It was fine with the factory stock, but it sits a bit too low using this stock. I am not paying $250 for a High version, so I plan to order some UM rings. Just wondering if I can get away with Mediums or do I need High?

Mediums w/ maven rs1.2

Mediums w/ maven rs1.2

Just to follow up on this, the Medium UM rings are perfect. They are about 0.175" higher (from base of ring to center) than the Medium Raptor mount.

Going to use the Raptor mount on the .22 Creed build I am doing for my best friend. That is going in a Stocky's stock, so it will be fine.

If anyone wants to skip the wait for one of these, I just posted my stock for sale in the gun classifieds.

I've had my stock for a little over a month now. Frankly it's everything I was looking for and more. I'm very pleased with the purchase.

The grip style, build quality, and built in ARCA attachments were the known quantities I was buying as I wanted my rifle stock to feel more like my precision rifles that I do the majority of my shooting with.
The butt stock to bore height and negative comb made sense theoretically but I had never shot a negative comb rifle so I was leery of it being marketing hype. That design does as advertised when it comes to recoil management.

No issues with the barrel cut or bottom metal on mine.

Also, for those wondering about scope height with the comb height on this stock.

I'm a 6'4" 240lbs fella with a head that matches my body size.

I've used two scopes on this rifle so far:
-Maven 2.5-15x44
-Vortex PST 2.5-10x32

Both scopes were on low rings (.850") on a 20MOA pic rail.

It's not a full cheek bone Appleseed type cheek weld, but it's not a jaw weld either. I'm roughly 1cm from a full cheek bone weld. It feels easy enough to acquire consistently so I have no plans on adding any comb height.

This showed up today exactly 2 months from my original order date. This is the hard edge tropic color which is awesome but I was disappointed I couldn’t get it in the classic forest camo without ordering it in fiberglass. Stock feels great and I like the grip but it’s different, just playing around with it I noticed I had to intentionally wrap my hand on it to get a consistent grip but nothing significant or too noteworthy, probably just due to being a little chunkier. Love that I could get LOP built to my needs (14.5) without spacers. Weighs 33 oz without the bottom metal (plastic) but including the arca and pic rail. Pretty nice stock and excited to shoot it. The rifle/action it’s intended for is at the gunsmith getting a new barrel so i can’t speak to how centered the barrel chamber is but looks pretty good from a cursory glance with a CTR barrel. Edit - I did look it over a little closer and the arca rail is askew a little. Not a functional issue but I am sure I’ll notice it for a little while, and then I’ll forget all about it.

Finally got around to shooting with my stock. Really enjoy the ergonomics, very comfortable to shoot. No issue with the "nub". Noticed my rifle wasn't shooting as tight compared to when bolted into my KRG. Maybe I was having a bad day, but might benefit from bedding.

I saw McM recommended torquing action screws to 45 in/lbs - is that what you all are doing?
