I’ve been doing this program for a few weeks now. In past years I have trained for hunts by doing rucking, running and lifting workouts, similar to programs outlined in Training for the New Alpinism. I thought I was in good shape but some of the Mayhem workouts are very tough and I love it. An example of today’s workout is as follows: warmup followed by 20 minute AMRAP (run 400m, 10 cleans at 135lbs); warmup followed by 7 sets of heavy 6 rep deadlifts; warmup followed by back and bi weights (rows, ring rows, curls).
Since I had a decent base, I am able to push through these workouts but I am constantly sore. I’m guessing my body will adapt in the next few weeks, but so far, I would recommend it as long as you’re going to be consistent with the program.
