Maven RS1.2 2.5-15x44mm SHR-Mil Q&A

Aaaand ... they're out of stock again. Longer run than last time, but still a business model that doesn't make sense to me. (It's not like in the run-up to Christmas that we might have other expenses competing for our funds ...)

They're expected back in a month or so.

Good to know. I used to be the bunny that contacted Maven and posted ETAs here, but got a bit burned by a combination of incorrect dates and incredibly small restock amounts ...
I must have gotten one of the last with the last shipment. I received it Monday.
Might be awhile before I order but definitely plan on 3 more unless something shinier comes along.

Picked up a RS1.2 for my tikka and will be buying a pair of the UM rings and level when funds allow. From my readings, the medium UM rings seem to be the sweet spot for usability for most people. Any reason to buy the lows over the mediums? Anybody have the sight height available for that combo?

I tried lows per their chart and granted I had a Sendero profile carbon barrel at that time, it was tight. Then you add a suppressor and you get some pretty bad obstruction from the can at low mag. And then your mirage is that much worse. I swapped to medium and it solved the issue for me.

If you’re running a straight stock t3x with no suppressor I’d say the low is def the better option - especially if you run the factory stock.

I have both now setup. There both great. Tenmile weighs a little less which is nice but the maven reticle is better for hunting generally. I don’t have an issue with the tree style reticle so I mostly use the tenmile. I don’t think you’ll go wrong with either.
Is the tenmile reticle that bad for hunting? Looking to buy my first FFP hunting scope. Thanks

I have 3x tenmile mounted on rifles. Ordered 2x maven back in Aug when they had in stock during the craze. Traded one immediately(for a tenmile), the 2nd is still in the box. I prefer the tenmile obviously. My only want, would be to have a more open center dot. If the tenmile 3-18 is 24oz, the Maven 2.5-15 should be lighter, it's a physically smaller scope, VS it being 4oz heavier.

Using the Trij on the X axis is absolutely fine. Using their tree for holdovers is very poor. The maven box works better for me, and the clarity of the simple holdover arrangement also works better for me, though of course windage is held in space or dialed. It’s a special use case. Both work. But I wouldn’t get the Trij because of the tree if that makes sense.
