Mathews bow for 2016

i shot the Halon6.

smooth, quiet. i couldnt get the shop guy to put the limbs back to full tight, so the bow was feeling super easy on the draw and hold. the first 6" brace bow i've shot. i wish he would have cranked the limbs down for me, but no. so i dont really know how the bow feels.

now the bow itself. the cams look HUGE!! like pie plates. and the riser, is very burly. very very Burly and substantial. it felt heavy as a bare bow. and i dont know if it was my imagination, it felt very top heavy. aesthetically, it is not appealing to me. it is so chunky. the grip is flat on the back and it is crazy comfy tho. i could shoot it.

but the Hoyt i shot next to it felt, "ethereal". mentally, i bet i hike better with it :) (i'd venture a guess that is the first time ethereal was used on this forum) :D

happy bow shopping guys!! i'll stay with my cam-leaning elite for now. and yes, things have died with that bow. (phew)

What difference does that make?

He's implying that a bow can be poorly tuned and shoot FP's extremely well. Which is true. But I highly doubt Levi's bow is anything but an absolute tack driver, no matter what's on the front of it. I've yet to personally see an e35 with an issue as severe as with prior models, they are very very good shooting bows.

I've also seen bows shoot terribly for people, a guy with good form picks it up and stacks it, so your form, especially your grip can play a big role as well.

For me I really like elites and can shoot them well. Primes I cannot, at least the ones I've shot, and it's not the bow it's my grip, I don't know why but I never shot them well.

I knew what he was getting at. It was just coming off as him implying that cam lean equates out to poor broadhead flight.

Really, the only bow that gives me fits with the grip is Hoyts. I have to shoot them off the riser.

Cam lean/horizontal nock travel certainly *can* equate to the inability to properly tune a bow - been there and done that. Presumably binaries have gotten a lot better since the early Bowtechs, but I had fits with one back in the day (had 2 limbs split in the fork due to the amount of twist). My point is that it is folly for people to cite performances with field points as a proxy for what can be done with FBBH's because it ignores a number of tuning complexities which are introduced when you add steerage to the front end of an arrow.

That picture about the new 2016 bow is so funny! You should post that on archery talk! If I was somewhat computer literate I'd do it!

This would be a 200 page debate on archery talk. They would even critic the photo regarding shooting form. But a agree. Super funny

Thank goodness I never sold a virgin bow. :). Bless the dumb Jake turkeys for bloodying every bow of mine :)

And in that photo:

1. The grip is not right
2. He needs to lift bow arm and bend at the waist.

Haha. :D. Just kidding

Oh I'm sure nuts&bolts would have something to say about the shooters form, then somebody would reply that N&B doesn't know what the **** he's talking about... then a N&B fanboy would tell that guy he didn't know what he was talking about how great N&B was. Then some Bowtech guy would saw how all Mathews bows are shit...

All reasons why I prefer Rokslide over Archery (everybody's an expert) Talk.

Glad you guys found the humor in the meme.
