After experiencing consistent failures to feed on rd #5 on multiple Tikka 6rd 223 magazines it became obvious a correctly working product was necessary.

Cue the discussion following the winter S2HU class and I was apparently lucky enough to email MDT at the right time. Doug sent me an invoice which I paid at the end of February. I received the magazines last week which was about the timeline I was told when I paid.

I ordered the 223 and 308 magazines. I’ve only ran a few boxes through the 223 but feeding was smooth and worked as advertised. The magazines fit fine in the SG bino harness magazine pouch.

Those who are checking the website in hopes of ordering may want to focus on e-mailing or calling MDT, blowing out their remaining inventory doesn’t seem to be their focus right now.

Did they get some .308 Tikka mags in the US? I've called as well as emailed back and forth, even offered to buy all the remaining ones to save them the hassle of selling them.

They told me today the 223 ones will be available "soon." I've been checking multiple times a day. This market is beyond ripe for @Unknown Munitions to make $

Seems like the issue is cost. Last I checked places like Pacific Tool & Gauge still have MambaMags currently available, but they’re selling for MSRP ($120-130) which is about what the UM tikka mags cost. I’m unaware of any companies successfully producing aftermarket magazines that are price competitive with Tikka factory offerings.

Maybe they want people to buy them from the other retailers in an effort to make more money/ help the dealers move their inventory. Seems odd they are half the price of the other places.

The most annoying part of their responses has been the absolute lack of solid answer.

I checked that Pacific tool company prices. It was almost $130 shipped GFY, might as well buy the Australian guy's for $170.

Where else have you seen them?

Is there a functional difference between the mamba, waters rifleman, or NDR tikka mags? It seems everyone prefers the MambaMags but if they’re not ever available then I won’t wait around on them.
