LS Wild Armory: any interest in Semi Custom Tikkas?

Also I think there is room for 25CM in your model. A 16” 25CM has been on my mid since I have so many 25 cal from years of different quarter bore projects.

So will you also sell the new take-off factory barrels?
Yes, I will be selling take offs. I will probably list them in classifieds as opposed to the website.

Yes, the 25 creed is another cool option. I love my 25SST.

Very interested.....this 25 PRC thing sounds cool. A 6 creed would be nice. This sounds like a nice way/service to get what you're looking for.

I am hoping to fill the niche in an “off the shelf” and “budget” way.

This solution doesn’t exist, so you are helping me create it and feedback helps me reduce risk/cost to make it happen. Barrels and actions are expensive to stock… I think I have more than $50k in barrels ordered right now. That’s a huge investment for a small company in a niche, and my margins are small in the MOQ to stock multiple barrels in multiple calibers in multiple lengths.

Rokslide is a great focus group for good/bad ideas.

If you have a good relationship and are comfortable with being at the mercy of a 3rd party barrel maker you’ll be OK. Looks like you’ve thought it through pretty well. Maybe think some about the lefties of the world, there are Tikka actions but sometimes limited factory chambering choices. You might consider, if you haven’t already got it, basic machining capacity for threading and chambering touch - ups. It could save you a lot of waiting in certain situations. Maybe. Also barrel marking, so it doesn’t show up in a weird place.

Always good to see folks innovating and providing a useful service.

I'm curious if you really have to paint them all brown and install muzzle brakes to make it work.

I'm rooting for you.

No custom stuff, all in stock, stay under the overpriced gun assembling orbit where the other guys are sparring.

I think this is a good idea. I'm just not sure the viability of it. It seems like what you're really selling is availability/convenience?

Right now I can buy a T3x for $550, ship the barreled action off to PBB wait 10 weeks and pay $700, and have whatever fully custom cartridge/profile/length I want. So $1250 all in with some s/h and taxes added on.

If you had barrels on the shelf and I needed something quicker than 10 weeks, or it was considerably less than $1250 then I could see this being a winner.

You can picture this like me being the annoying person in the fast food line that says, I see you’re buying a barrel, would you like to upsize that with an action and stock?

I don’t have to make a huge up charge for the service of rebarreling, because I am already involved in the transaction.

I can basically do this on demand at the same price. And, eliminate steps for you.

For others, I eliminate the brain work of choosing a reamer and specs, cause we all know that you can walk into a nightmare, if you do not understand those things.

It’s new, so no one has done it because it’s a stupid idea, or it’s a new idea I can use to sell a few more items and make customers happy.

Cheaper group guy pricing, immediacy, and not needing the tools to do it yourself would be a win for a lot of people

Also, having been accuracy verified and not having to wonder or take a chance on that. That’s big too!

I think this could be a nice little niche filler. The accuracy verifying before shipping would be pretty convenient. I would imagine this would add a decent amount of time on your end to mount a scope and shoot it. Are you able to shoot 100 yards at your shop or do you need to travel to shoot?

Depending on how much $$ it was above doing it myself and turn around time, I'd be a potential customer. A few years ago, I bought everything to change Tikka barrels out, to avoid the delays.

I think for me the immediacy thing is the biggest sale here, but also maybe the most difficult.

I'm sure he'll be getting dealer pricing, and can charge appropriately to make it worth while. Not needing the tools, meh PBB charges $150 to install their barrel if you send the action in, as do a lot of other pre-fit people.

The current market for pre-fit barrels, from what I can see, exceeds the supply. Gunsmiths are months out on chambering blanks. Most companies that provide pre-fits are 10+ weeks on orders. So you would have to think that if PBB or PVA or SJA had the machine and labor power to have ready to go barrels on the shelf they would.

This endeavor is potential more feasible imo because it's a smaller market, being mainly RS, and not every option under the sun. Everyone here probably want one of 5 or 6 different barrels.
