LS Wild Armory: any interest in Semi Custom Tikkas?

What I really want is a bunch to step up and make my 6 PRC group buy happen, lol.

I ordered a prefit barrel to dial in exactly what the reamer specs should be and start working on load data for brass and bullets. Barrel is many weeks out, but I am already buying all the stuff to reload all types of brass. I already have all the 6mm bullets and the good powders…

Already factoring that into the plan. I want to change what buyers expect. Starting at Rokslide might help.

I hate the “3 shot” moa guarantee. Anyone on Rokslide should understand that I can shoot a few groups to cherry pick one and send it back.

Also, I feel like I am above average shooting consistently small groups so I can “proof out a rifle” into a reasonable standard, and roll that minimum into the cost. I’m not benchrest tiny shooter, but I feel like I can prove it to myself.

If it doesn’t shoot, then I would not ship it and deal with my barrel guy for a replacement. Make sense?

On new prefit barrels I have gotten, within 20 rounds, I can usually tell if it’s a dud.

As a policy, I believe in the barrels and If I put the time and effort on the front end, it will eliminate the garbage on the back end with the false expectation the “3 shot 1 moa guarantee” creates.

I can eliminate issues with user error like bad torque, bad rings, bad stock, bad reloading, etc. I would guarantee the barreled action, not in the plastic stock to eliminate possible issues and get the potential of the rifle.

Interested in your thoughts, I can proof the barreled actions with:

Torquing barreled action into a known good stock and mount a scope. Create a couple loads with two different bullets and shoot both.

Deliver with targets and video showing it shoots minimum XX moa for at least 5 shots.

I know I am crazy, but is this way out there, lol.
This is an excellent goal but you can't eliminate the guys who can't shoot/crappy scope/lead sled and try to blame you. Some guys will complain if you gave em $100.

If it’s a simple barrel swap to get the caliber I want at a reasonable price. Yes I would be in. If I could pick up a 22 CM , 6.5 Grendel or a 5.7x28 I would order today.

We are meeting with the ATF this week for our FFL. We are working out exactly what we want to do. But, here is one option that I want to float.

Who is interested in new Tikka rifles with new prefits in calibers like 22 creed, 6 creed, 6 PRC?

Any other calibers?

We could be shipping rifles as soon as 4 weeks.

As many know we have made Tikka barrel preorders and will have barrels in stock for Rokslider favorites like 22 creed and .223. (Barrels are in the shipping department and I will have update with info in the threads.) We will continue to make orders.

Eventually the plan would be to have barrels in stock for DIY and to assemble our own by torquing on the barrel and headspacing.

@NSI
Man I’m waiting on my 6 creed barrel that I ordered from you at the beginning of March. Might have to fork over more of my money to you if you go this route haha.

I have almost 100 barrels in the shipping department of Preferred as we speak… most are 22 creed prefits.

This can happen as fast as my FFL comes.

Start saving your pennies, it’s gonna happen! I just need to know how many Tikka to buy…

Yes, and my policy is to give a refund and ban them as a customer forever. That partly why I want to do my work before to know it’s a hen and not the barrel.

If I send it out knowing it shoots, then I will work with them to figure out what they need to do… But, I have no patience for the 5% that take 95% of the time. Hopefully they self identify and decide not to buy in the first place.

My time is money. I will take it back and I can sell a used action and burn out the barrel myself. I won’t have my life sucked away.

I already help everyone I can free of charge, lol. So, I don’t mind an earnest seeker. Bums can fly a kite.

Everyone knows we at LS will always make it right. Sometimes the right thing is to say, send it back and bugger off.

In the end, I have the customers I want and my customers “get me”.

Maybe one day that changes, but that’s a problem for future me.

I recently got a PBB 6 PRC barrel, or else I’d be in. You want a .279” neck, with either .180” or .200” freebore. 7.5 twist. And maybe the AW dimension at the .200 line to eliminate clickers and the need for small base dies.

Man you got those barrels fast. Are all of those barrels for the group buy from a little bit ago? Just getting excited for mine to come in.
I timed the buy perfectly to the day and time of year, that’s all. The 6mm buy might not be as fast.

I hear you man and I agree with your philosophy. I couldn't handle the bums personally.

I love this! I’m a small business owner myself. You are exactly correct!

Those are the numbers we are circling around. Thanks. It’s good for confirmation.

I am buying brass and will load a bunch of bullets in the 108-109 ELDm -112 matchburner size. Velocity trumps BC inside 600, so the 6 PRC is not so extreme as the 6 UM. We don’t want to be that. We’re a step back from it.

We want 6 creed speeds out of a shorter barrel really. Longer barrels will give more obviously…

.279 neck allows for necking down Lapua brass without having to neck turn.

From what I’ve been told, the 112 Match Burner is very easy to load for. It’s also very high BC for a 6mm. It’s what I’m going to shoot as long as my barrel likes it.

@WeiserBucks,
Maybe PBB already uses a reamer with that spec. I’m not sure
I will be spacing a new reamer for whoever does the barrels for me. PBB uses a .279 neck and .140 free ore is all I know right now, cause that’s on the website. I have one of order for me, hopefully they will do the freebore .180. If not, I will test it with dummies with different bullets and then have someone ream it to .180.
