I logged into onx on my wifes computer so she can always look at it if I am out.

I give her some locations where I will be near if something goes sideways, next phone will be an iphone with sat. capability. Another year or two I would assume options will be better and more of them!

You can use your Onyx on more than one device. I downloaded it on my wife's phone. She doesn't hunt but she loves it for trail running. Now there is another good reason for her to have it.

Great news they are OK. I was stranded in E OR due to mud for 3 days years ago after a torrential summer evening downpour. Happens. Sounds like that or a mechanical issue happened.

I got a call from a hunter late one night ( ‘“ I’m stuck in a wash out, and my insulin pump is on zero “ where are you?”” “‘ I don’t have any idea “”)
4 hours of driving roads on a 4x29 mile ranch is hard to find someone, a entire hunting unit impossible.
# 2 I like texting wife and contacts any updates on health, harvest , weather

My inReach is one of the few things that I spend money on and hope to never see a return on it. I hope that 15 bucks a month is just thrown away for life.

That's great if you're conscious and have all your arms and digits in-tact, sure.

You can set up Inreach to post your location at set intervals to a private web page you can grant access to. I set it up so my wife and kids can go online at any time and see where I am at, if I am moving etc. This way they won't have to wait a long period of time to get their inheritance.
