LOP Measurement

Is it better to go with a shorter than ideal LOP or longer? Let's say your ideal LOP is 13" and the only options for a stock are .5" over or .5" under. Which are you going with?

Shorter because a coat adds the half inch in winter. And, adding a spacer or different recoil pad is easier than cutting, IMO.

Also, I find that shorter is actually a little better when it comes to controlling the rifle under recoil.
