Looking for Tikka 243 8 twist pet loads

I used to shoot several 243 and 243 AI with a pretty stout load of 7828ssc. Nice thing about that powder is you really can’t get enough in the case to make too much pressure. If I recall right I was getting 3000-31000 with 105 AMaxes when they were still around. You might check that powder out.

I found 41 grains of 4350 behind a 103eldx pulled in a ten shot inch today. COL at 2.6 . Tried a few at 2.7 and it opened up ridiculously. 1:8 Tikka 22"

Just a warning, H4350 will eat up barrel life. Slower, cooler burning powders will drastically improve the life of your .243s. My friend and I are well versed in the ways of the kung243foo.

What has your accuracy turned into using h4350 when you've "burnt" a barrel out?

We are stuck on H1000. My ES is usually under 5fps. My buddy and I both shoot 105s. He shoots the Berger Hybrid and I shoot the 105 A-max. Both 8 twist Krieger barrels.

Would you mind sharing your recipe? I have a 8 twist Krieger. 243 win. that I need to start loading for. I have 105 gr A-Max and 105 gr BTHP as well.

I tried 70 blitzkings / praire enemy in sierra factory, 75 superperformance, and 75 max handloads, when I went to 85gr it tightened up

Man, I'm right there too but that was 103 ELD-x. I have some 108 eldm loaded now at .010 and .020 off the lands. Will be going soon with hopes. Did not like reading your experience with the Tikka. I'm going to bet we'll have to run them slow. Will post here what happens.

What charge weight of h4350? Somewhere in the 41.3-41.9 range should produce sub-.5" 5 shot groups assuming the shooter is up to it.
